Thread regarding Follett layoffs

To those who found a job on campus- what kind of job did you get?

The same with our school. The university is great, students, faculty, campus staff. We have a great rapport with the school itself which we, as a team, have worked hard to build up.
To be honest, I bet half the school don't even know who Follett is. The company lets us down with its crazy policies and outdated systems.

Get hired by the university! You have a great excuse to meet departments, other professional staff and academics. Show you're valuable to them and then find a job on campus.
Don't EVER confuse for whom you work. While your days are spent on campus, you're not considered part of the campus family. You're a vendor.
Just because you work on a campus doesn't mean follett doesn't want you to leave that campus. You may leave to take a job managing a smaller store, or you may leave because you've been there too long and they want to pay someone else less to do your job.
Do it this quarter/semester. Find a job on campus.

The only thing that keeps me with this company is I love my job, my campus, my staff. It is sad that I have to leave a job I love because the company s—s. Where I work, the people are happy, are paid and treated well, they treat me well. I wish I worked for the university and not Follett.

They don’t care if you leave. We have lost an average of 50 managers a month since last fall. Has anything changed? Other than the high level promotions! THEY DON’T CARE!!! About team members, about the customers or the campuses we serve.

You’re retail, which means you’re replaceable. No matter how intellectual you are. Keep the faith.

This company doesn't deserve you and you don't deserve to be treated in the manner follett treats its employees.

Good for you. I imagine this applies to a considerable number of managers. In the meantime while you are waiting for Follett to do the right thing, have your resume updated, get your Linked In profile current and dip your toes into the water. With 7 million open jobs, there is a wealth of opportunity from companies that are already doing what you are hoping for. Go make that connection and flourish!!
