Windstream has turned into a revolving door, good and talented people continue to abandon ship on a daily bases. And there is no indication this brain drain will stop any time soon. Not that the management is trying to prevent it, I think they are jumping for joy for every person who leaves - no severance for them to pay.

The only software is TT's third leg. I'm finishing my current project and heading the F outta there. The IT guy promised he will format my hard drive so no docs remain. Good luck figuring it out!
The long and short of it is TT says we are no longer a "phone company"
in the traditional sense. We are a software company now. We don't need anything
from those legacy networks. If you work on or support anything that is ATM or
TDM your time here is limited. Find a new job on the new team or look externally.
If someone from your team does leave they are NOT back filling right now. Budgets
are in place through the end of the year and they will sc-ape by with bear bones.
TT and friends have until the end of the year to make their low bar results so
they get paid out their KEIP/KERP bonuses. Keep that in mind that is what you
are working for everyday not for this company to come out of top. When all of the dust settels
after the 1st of the year their is going to be alot of slash and burn to close offices/team/staff.
The "Consultants" have provided their plan to the board and now they are working on executing it.
If you are not looking now you will be in the next 6 month.

Sorry for everyone who was let go. Once everyone knew what was going on, people just sat at their computer hoping they didn’t get a calendar invite to the mass lay-off.
I was let go almost 2 years ago and the only people who received severance were people with 10 years or longer. People that were there 10 years and a couple of people that had almost 30 years in got the same severance, 12 weeks. I worked at a company that used to have regular pep rallies and tell us how well the company is doing. Two weeks after one of those pep rallies and email was sent to all employees on a Monday stating that the company was going out of business and our last day was going to be on Friday. When my entire group was cut from Windstream we were told that we were going to have a short meeting and for us to go into the conference room. When everyone was in the conference room we were told with no shame at all that our jobs had been eliminated and today was out last day in the office. They collected our badges and walked us out. Companies like Windstream do not give a damn about the employees that keep the company running they keep them until the last minute and then kick them out.
