Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What is the scale of the layoffs?

Are Hoffman only been hit or have there been layoffs at other locations as well? Does anyone know or have any idea what is the extent of today's layoffs and how many people have been hit?

EDDIE LAMBERT doesn't care about saving the company. He will gain more by liquidating. I saw as soon as Kmart bought Sears and left him I at the helm that we were looking at a sinking ship. I spent 13 years with Kmart and hate to see this.

Forbes has an article that was released 2 hours ago. Very interesting read.

Sadly, I was part of the layoffs. 17 years of blood sweat and tears just discarded away. The company is still losing money and has no hope of survival in its current deserted structure.

Hoffman was already a ghost town so if close to a 1,000 went home from there this week, that would be really bad. The cafeteria is already closed most stations and never has many people in it, so they will be in serious trouble. Keep letting go the talented people and see how the "transformation" goes. Really dumb.

A current employee told me that they were told the cuts amounted to less than 1,000 employees. So I guess that means between 1 and 999 employees lost their jobs. That narrows it down...

A lot I'm told in the C building. Legal was hit yesterday. D building...a couple people. Not sure what else. They're cutting Kmart in half. Huge list about 80 locations.
God be with every one getting let go. I've suffered the pain of layoffs fast too many times. There's no such thing as company loyalty. You're choosing to exchange your time for money. That's all this is man.

Pretty substantial layoffs today at HE, probably going to be even worse tomorrow. Both my bosses were laid off and a sizable portion of my team as well. We were told these layoffs were done purely in the name of saving money. A real shame, we lost some talented, hard working people today.
