Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

More info on coming layoffs

There will be layoffs in claims, G&A, customer service and provider. If you are on a team that is being discussed for robotics you are first to go.

Where is this info coming from? Is this from a reliable source or just speculation? I don't want to start stressing over somebody's guessing game.

Writing is on the wall. The new robotics are already being rolled out in waves and I am sure our jobs will be going to a legato employee in the not too distant future. I noticed the old mantra of excellence is no longer being mentioned. THe new buzz word should be mediocrity. Once the cut finally happens it will almost be a relief . I am already mourning for a job and a workplace culture that is in the throes of death. The members and providers will have to deal with this new legacy . I will be happy to not be a part of the fallout. I have already started my exit plan. Until then, I am riding the wave. Good luck all.

Well I was allowed to join the call but my Manager regretted me joining. If you listened and were smart enough you would see the company will cutting a lot of jobs by end of the first quarter next year after investing everything into automation.

WorkIQ is already in place for several departments. Some of the areas they are rolling it out to doesn’t make sense as they are project areas where most of the employees time is spent on calls and in meetings so counting key strokes, etc makes no sense. They are definitely using it as a termination tool.

Replying to @10LpFyZ2-dwmc. WorkIQ is a tool for your Leadership team to get enough data and trend on you to fire you instead of laying you off. You are correct in that assessment. They will sell it to you as it being a tool to better coach and train you where you need most. Do me a favor and let everyone know it’s completely opposite of that and share this site with everyone. Let’s get the word out and fight back !

What does it mean, studied for robotics? does that have anything to do with WorkIQ? in my mind they're going to use that to get rid of their underperformers (myself included), so that they don't have to offer severance pay as they can just terminate with the justification being that they don't make production...

This is exactly why my husband and I have prepared for self-employment. He just left corp. America working for Optum in April to get things started and while he is getting things going I will hang on until the very end and hopefully by that time I can join him in the many businesses we will have up and running by that time. I have been working towards cutting the corp. America cord for many years because I am tired of the atmosphere. Corporations are greedy. The formula for business should be, Happy Employees = Satisfied Customers + Rich Shareholders. Learn it; Know it; Live it. I am tired of this whole should we or should we not get rid of working from home? I created a bill proposal for Reps and Dems with the same research just a variation with the taxes. Reps got if you do XYZ you get up to 10% decrease in tax and Dems if you don't do XYZ you get up to 10% increase in tax. The reserach focuses on why working from home solves 21 different problems we face as a nation which are more than just decreasing global footprint. I am able to tie through my research driving to and from work to child behavior problems which lead to bullying and violence and narcotics abuse because we need to self-soothe in an attempt to limit stress. This research has not only led to writing a bill proposal, but I started writing my book. America's Toxic Environment is the title. The book is how corporate America is the toxin in America. I have collected events from employees that are at the last rung on the ladder to executives. I have my own collection of events. I have research based on lived experiences. I also plan on including the names of the organizations in my research and the book whether they are users and abusers or the best place to work. The goal of this book is to shake up corporate America and get them using my formula for business. Stop treating your employees like trash that you just toss out. I am hoping to make a change so employees have protection because the whole at-will is not working. HR is a joke. They side with the management and the organization and not the employee. I have so many documented cases of HR and their abuse it is utterly sickening to me. There just needs to be a massive corporate shakeup.

So what else is new, everyone knows layoffs are coming ... this has always been a trend in Anthem which makes it a very stressful place to work to say the least. Like myself, most everybody is just riding it out until their numbers are finally called except of course for those who have decided enough is enough and sought employment somewhere else. I suppose the only question everybody is asking themselves now is wether to stay or not to stay.
