I was part of the rif that happen in July. I was asked and pursued to come back in a role. I didn’t take it for a few reasons. 1) I would only be there because I hadn’t found a new Org/role yet I wanted to accept and I would be in a perpetual interview mode the whole time. The hiring manger didn’t deserve that most of all I like the folks trying to bring me back. 2) I have a problem with being dumped and I mean our whole group was severed, and going back to the place that just dumped me on the street. 3rd I asked for a time in service bridge to protect me against another rif that I would at least get a decent severance when it happen again. The answer was no but they wanted to sweeten the deal on the commission side not salary side.
I will say this the themes of the last two SKO’s were on point. 18 was a GOT theme and it was a bloody year with Jerry leaving and the Brits taking over. Needless to say the 19 theme of it being a Circus well don’t need to say more. Take care all remember hiring happens in cycles. I was fortunate I was severed July 19th and I accepted a position on Aug 27th. Cool thing no change in pay, if Riverbed does do another reduction before the end of the year (The frequency started to increase to every quarter) Hiring slows down at the end of October and psi justo up again in March. Just my experience
