It's been really quiet lately, too quiet for my taste. I prefer knowing something is coming and preparing for any possibility than being caught completely off guard (which has happened several times before.)
So if anybody has any info on layoffs we might be looking at any time soon (or not so soon,) please share.
Major announcement last week of Q3 probably gutting it’s ROM. They don’t plan to bring these positions back, Nokia is heavily invested in GDC now. This will be Nokia’s demise.
Watch out for Oct layoffs. Many contractors that are H1Bs hired in California. No experience needed in Optical, on the job training.
Seems like it intends to displace its North American workforce by end of year. Utilizing India to run that part of the company.
Nokia is in the process of eliminating most of their ROM (Roll Out Manager) workforce in North America right now. The employees are in the middle of their separation which is 4 weeks on working, then 5 weeks silent but still working with no access to any systems. This eliminates the Lucent and Alcatel-Lucent Operations Supervisor levels. And moves their job functions over to INDIA. Nokia is cracking apart its services group. Very poor leadership at that level currently for North America.
Its internal labor force is on borrowed time at this point
There's always a fresh layoff in Murray Hill (New Providence NJ). Every other month. They are running out of people they can lay off. Some resignations also. A lot have moved to BAE, LGS, and Harris. Glad that nightmare company is behind me. Going nowhere fast. Have they used up all of Microsoft's money?
