Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

So what company will we be in 2020?

We all know that changes are coming very soon. With early negotiations and now having a TA in place what is CTL really up to? Are we being sold as a whole or being broken up? Also who would want to buy us? Knowing that there’s been a steady decline in wire line (but still profitable) and very expensive to maintain what is so appealing since the enterprise portion is not included? We work in this stuff everyday and know our plant conditions and limitations so what gives? Any thoughts?

I think a Dish Network would be a good match.

Well they Want the Central Offices, Huts and Hubs where Fiber are at and where they can have local cross connects that are shorter lengths to keep latency at a minimum, the copper feeds would have to be cut over to a cable for whom ever buys it. I don't see a co existence in the same buildings with anyone.

If I had to guess, residential is sold off or they pay someone to take it. Centurylink keeps the national side. That’s how I am reading between the lines.
