Go to Barnes & Nobles Facebook page. They advertise a “Blowout 50% Off” Book Haul Sale ! Read the comments. This thinly veiled attempt to make some money back ( from all the business it lost!) fails miserably with customers. The ones who wasted money on memberships! Lack of selection, one ad said “ALL” kids books were 50% off, customers, the ones who foolishly showed THEIR loyalty, by spending $25 on a membership as less than happy. New owners, same old disappointment!

“My manager is always in the office on her fat a– looking at her phone or reading trashy tabloids. I think she's waiting to get fired by the new owner.”
Hope she gets her wish !
Her, and all the other managers who lied to employees about not knowing they were going to be let go. Not giving anyone a heads up. Looking to just cover their butts.
Some managers were great. Moved people around before the February 12 date. Others, just sat back and let it happen. I hope they all have it done to them !
BN cares as much for their customers ( even the membership holders) as they do their employees.
You saw what they did in February 2018. And now there’s talk ( always talk) Of more layoffs w/ the new owners. BN needed to turn customer service ( which has suffered greatly!) around. This “sale” did nothing to help. Many of us see it as a sign BN isn’t after improving business. That doesn’t bode well for our jobs.
“Working for Barnes & Noble has not been “special “for a long time.”
Not for a very long time. Once an industry leader. Now known as a laughing stock !
After he weekend of nothing but complaints from customers. Not a good choice of books. Not that many books. No tote bags are left. I gave my notice last night. I can no longer look customers in the eye while the people that make these decisions sit behind a desk in their office. The assistant manager and the manager spent the day in the office. We had to deal with the irate customers. Not worth it for the 14 hours a week, minimum wage I’m given. I can get a retail job anywhere. Working for Barnes & Noble has not been “special “for a long time.
Can anyone remember a good decision corporate made?
Been many years, many years.
Since “laying off” the career employees it’s been one bad decision after another. They’ll NEVER RECOVER!
This has got to be the DUMBEST COMPANY EVER!
Can anyone remember a good decision corporate made?
Customers complaining the Book Haul sale promises a free tote bag.
The stores were out on the first day !
You surprised?!
For a year the Co. couldn’t afford to put your books in a bag !
Happened last year too. Remember?!
Doesn’t matter who owns the company.
Same old come on.
Promise of free tote bag with the Book Haul sale. Customers saying they were out of bags the FIRST DAY of the sale.
Seriously?!
Are you surprised?
The company couldn’t afford to put your book in a bag for a year. Then said they’d give you a free bag and you’re surprised they’re out ?!
Doesn’t matter who owns the company! It’s the same old disappointing come on ( happened last year too ! Remember?!)
How many times are YOU going to fall for it?!
Doing FURTHER damage to BN’s c-appy reputation. What a joke !
Had to field several complaints yesterday. Customers thought the selection was bad and small. No big bestsellers. Yay. I’m calling out tomorrow. Don’t get paid enough to have managers in the office while we deal with the complaints!
