Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

The way to the top is being a material manager in Rig

Hard work and knowledge are not merited and just being a material manager gets you to the top in Rig. Funny how those that follow in the VPs footsteps get rewarded and the persons with the knowledge get left behind!!!

Heard there was several layoffs in Rig Systems today. Prayers for the families. Maybe they should look at the "next gen" kids that are already vice presidents & directors & don't have families to support. Sounds harsh but it's hard to go from good money to nothing with kids in school. There's a whole lot of cream at the top that could also use some "re-structuring". 140 gone from marketing which was a good start but need to look at who was "moved around" and "demoted" and what they really bring to the table.

Scottish thunder buddies back in charge of engineering, well planned. Might even have links to aftermarket but why would we look at that hmmmmm. Wake-up y'all it's a joke of restructured mess they made but nobody at the top will see it as BS talks.

Engineering going backwards as now back to where we were years ago with some promotion, not all, but there was a reason a certain now director had to be moved from direct report of his best buddy. His buddy gets the top job and what a surprise he is promoted to new director? Come on y'all VPs scratch the surface and stop this as a simple search can see them on vacation together all the time?
