Yet Uber’s market cap is 1.5 that of Ford, and they don’t own any factories or banks. Investors believe in Uber’s future, not so much in Ford’s “Smart Mobility.”

Dump on smart mobility? oh heck no!.... this is just like when we went into the golf cart business which was called Ford Think. people p–pooed that idea and look what that evolved into. wait a minute... well it would have evolved into something but market forces, um, well the price of gasoline was trending..... um, Canadian price fixing of batteries caused us to, um, well... never mind.

The article indicates was selected as a finalist with a college team. So minus all the salary costs we paid to participate in what looks like a college tech challenge for a prize of 350k while also losing millions per quarter. You ask why people are dumping on"Smart Mobility"? Well point just proven how clueless the org is. Bunch of people goofing around competing in college tech competitions and earning 6 figure salaries to do it.
Ford spends $200 MILLION per QUARTER to win $350,000. Someone please blame one project that came from “Smart Mobility” that has generated positive addition to profitability!
So we spent thousands of dollars and hours so we could be win $350,000?
