Hopefully, someone will come up with an accurate figure for exactly how many rail cars were toppled off of the tracks. More recent news reports say that the railroad reported one train had 90 cars and the other had 50 cars, making for the early 140-car total. Video footage shows that a large number of the intermodal cars were not blown over. But it will still be a time-consuming project to get the wreckage cleared and the track re-opened. This is on a segment where the Amtrak Southwest Chief operates. Unknown what happened to No. 3 and No. 4 in the early morning hours today because of the service interruption.
