Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Dear Lisa and Chris

Congratulations! By merging Barbie and Star Wars together to make the latest couture dolls, you’ve managed to create a product that both collector camps WON’T buy.

The pre-orders are for the stay at home moms and grandmas with EBay and Etsy shops. They’re buying them based on what another id–t wrote in an article or what influencers Mattel paid to peddle this c-ap online thinking they hit the jackpot. Keep telling yourself this company isn’t shi*. You do realize, when management gets thrown from the balcony with their golden parachutes you’re not going to inherit a damn dime right? At least stand up for something with value to you. Not this worthless people stomping over inflated ego of a company and it’s c-ap-tasting plastic.

Dear Poster accusing that my post was from MGA:
It’s not. I used to work for Mattel but I’m just one of millions within the toy industry and consumer market that hates your company. We don’t need anyone from MGA - your company has already made countless enemies and their ranks grow everyday. You have no idea how bad things are. Epically Clueless.

Interesting take on the license.

This product is just desperate attempt to add 20%+ royalty to an old and useless brand. No Star Wars collector wants it and nobBarbie collector wants it. The id–t touting that it’s sold out is LYING - I know - I worked for the company when this was planned and no one is buying it. It’ll be $5.99 just like all those useless and over-produced holiday Barbies.

Chris didn't oversee this collab, he was still in Hot Wheels when this project started over a year ago. The 'wheels' were in motion well before he moved into his current position.

That’s not going to save Mattel from its self inflicted c-ap. Hardly.

Wrong! Barbie/Star Wars mash up is a huge success. It's already pre-sold out on Amazon and each doll is $100.00. Try and spin that, MGA.

Classic Mattel. Don't have the licence to make anything people actually want, so desperately shoehorn the licence wherever they can. Won't work. Remember those c-appy Star Wars finger ships no one wanted? This is just like that.

FP should do a line of Star Wars Little People.

FP is putting out Funko-esque Little People figures based on bands like the Beatles and Kiss they're pretty cute, I could see it turning into a collectable thing.

Barbie can save Mattel. If they do more of these mashups they can really be a revenue driver for the company. It works for Funko and Barbie should continue to find similar licensed to remain relevant.

Poppycock! Pure unadulterated hooey, malarkey and balderdash! The reaction to those dolls has been off-the-charts. You sir are an ignoramus. A Rube. A Bumpkin. A Clodhopper. A Yokel. A Dolt. a Boor. A dunce. A blockhead. An Imbecile. A numbskull. A mo–n and a Fool.

In The future, please learn to read and research before you post your inane ramblings:
