People who decided to leave DXC (not talking about those laid off, those who left on their own,) do you have any regrets? How are you doing on finding new jobs? Is the grass really greener?
I've been contemplating leaving, but I'd lie if I said I was not scared of the unknown...
I decided to leave a few months ago and have bided my time finding something that the right fit for me. Glad to say that I found it. Today is my last day. I start my new job after some time off and I can hardly wait to say goodbye to this horrific company. Best of luck to those who are staying! (I'm in Americas)
What companies and areas? Anything not managed by DXC anywhere in the world is a billion times better than Don't Xpect Competence.
All that have left and found better, what companies, what area's , are they hiring ? Give some USEFULL HELP here!
After having been WFR'd my only regret was not to have completed the Spartans training. I filled 40 hours of "training" doing that rubbish whilst relaxing at the beach and my manager could not care less.
I left in April after 19 years, I do not miss the chaos at all. There is a world out there after DXC.
Left on my own accord as well. Just needed a change and raises and better medical is all. Happy now i'm in full swing new gig and ready for the new challenges. Nothing bad to say about my old manager. he/she was great till my last day of employment and will be missed.

S—y top management who lied and took bonuses while the rest of the company lay stagnant (raise wise) like a piece of rotting meat.
No rewards to earn for anything done as you work like a dog to get deadlines done.
Review work performance (review yourself) was horrible.
last but not least.....not being aware of the contract status no matter who you asked. No ones in particular fault other than collaborative blind eye and wont notify you till the day before the final meltdown. Just like all the whack layoffs in the past.

@107BmwAn-3sff you sound like my manager. Great guy and great manager, but dxc just dgaf....cut cut and then sell....its what's gonna happen.
I'm SO happy I left on my own. Kind of funny that my manager was irked when I gave my notice. I think she was hoping to lay ME off first :-) Anyway, I am happier, I sleep better, I work for a company with awesome leadership that appreciates me and my efforts. DXC tried to make me feel worthless (low performance rating - yeah RIGHT). But I prevailed. Absolutely NO regrets and SO happy to be away from that toxic company, with robot leaders who just looked out for themselves.
Glad all of you are better off, but if your company is hiring, give company names , locations. Be of some real help here.

The grass is greener and it is growing. Anxiety gone, stress gone, happiness back. DXC is the worst company I have ever worked at and to be out of there is the best move I ever made. I get why some of you stay but it’s not worth it

I left 2yrs ago, just a few months after HPE became DXC. Ex-EDS with 10 yrs service. I got the final jolt I needed after our entire team ended up on the CR-shortlist where 25% had to go. In the only 1x got CR'd because they eventually realised the client would walk.
Better job, more money, no out-of-hours on-call, 10 days more holidays, better management and atmosphere, an employer that actually cares about work/life balance...basically it was all positive.
Although there were good people in my team whom I enjoyed working with, you just don't realise how toxic an environment DXC is until you leave and look back. It's better for your mind and your body to GTFO.
So happy to be out of DXC. I worked more then 20 years HP/DXC and could not believe how the company went down when moving to DXC.
We all have known reorganizations in the past, but at least HP was fair and followed the laws of the country it was operating in. DXC just exploids people and has a psychopat on top of their organization (who only thinks of his pocket).
Leaving DXC was the best thing I did, and I never regreted it. It is even different. When looking at jobs I really check if there is a link with DXC - as I never want to have anything to do with this company ever again.
I left after 18yrs in early 2019. Was a manager and had just over 50 direct reports and was getting paid peanuts. Really REALLY enjoyed my time with those folks and worked hard to dodge every incoming attack from DXC to fire them all. In the end my brain and family couldn't take any more. Saw an opportunity to be an individual performer outside DXC and took it. I am 150% happier and less stressed. I work for a company that truly cares about me and what I can do to make them successful. In 4 months time with the new company I am making 5% more than I was making slaving as a manager for DXC. The grass is way greener. Good Luck to you!

I left a couple years ago, after working for CSC for 14 years. Here are the differences between the two companies. I work in the US.

@107BmwAn-2gcb - don't be gutted as DXC can only blame itself for the predicament that faces your old team. Where was management and Mikey when you needed them? They were nowhere to be seen but they pretended to care.
Where was DXC management when you were busting your guts to ensure that the customer is happy with your efforts? Management is and was invisible, pocketing the fruits of your labor and efforts, and milking your expertise in the name of profit and margins.
Where were all of the empty promises saying that pay rises and bonuses were imminent? DXC management pocketed your pay rise and bonus while you suffered stress and were led to exhaustion delivering on shonky cr@p sold be greedy sales people who only care about their own back pockets.
How much of the steady revenue stream ended up in your pocket? Probably less than 0.000001 percent as management scooped up the rest for their own greed.
Be thankful that you can say Good Riddance to DXC. Don't Xperience Clarity.
I start at a new job tomorrow and I am genuinely gutted to be leaving my role at DXC. I had the most fantastic customers you could wish for and they are all effectively f—ed come tomorrow as there is Noone left in my old team with my skill set. I have forged great relationships with them over the past few years and brought a steady revenue stream in even though I'm not in sales. So disappointed that it's come to this.
Regrets? WTF is that negativity? I was WFR'd whereas ML pocketed a bonus for my scalp. I no longer work at Club Toxic, nor do I need to listen to the clown and his mistress talking cr@p.
21 years, EDS, HPES etc. Quit in December of 2016 after they k–led the US severance plan and laid off half my team, which were all billable resources, and then couldn't understand why the client got upset.
2+ years at my new gig, half the stress, 50% more money, better benefits at a lot less that I was paying before, bosses that actually say things like 'good job' and 'thank you'. Annual bonuses that don't come in the form of coupons for something you didn't want in the first place...
Not every lawn out there is green and lush, but compared to the festering cesspool that DXC has become, the chances are you'll only regret not having done it much sooner.
Why are you not already looking for that next job and therefore know how your skills match open jobs ? It is easier to get a job when you have a job, is a common expression. IT can be a high pressure industry we are in. If you quit, and it comes out during an interview that will serve as a black mark against you. You will be the guy that quit when the job got tough.
The following senario has occurred often: A manager is asked/told to eliminate a worker. If you trust/talk to the manager before 'quitting'. They ask you not to quit so they eliminate you as that worker. He gets his credit for reducing his workforce and doesnt have to pick someone else, You get serverance package. Everyone is a winner.
Have no fear. There is a 99.9999% chance you land at a better company.
There are a lot of companies focussed on cutting costs and they treat employees as a commodity, While your skills are in demand and you can't be replaced with a lower cost worker you are OK. You need to treat employers as a commodity, get what you can in terms of money, but make sure they upskill you and when you see something better from another company, just leave.
At the end of life . . . . what would you wish you had done?
Left mid-April '19, but was working towards the new role since November '18 (had to work out visas with the new company). Zero regrets. I'm fortunate that many of my colleagues had already moved to the new company and several followed, so I'm in good company. But again, zero regrets. Benefits cost way less, pay rise, less stress and toxicity all around.
Left at the end of March 2018 after 20 years service with a 12 month severance and 3 months PILON...
Had 11 days holiday and then went back to work for a DXC client who had heard I was leaving and hired me direct....
Now contracting for an Austrian client....
Blood pressure down 20 points....bank account up 20 points - living the dream!!
Seriously - do it.....
Most fear the unknown. Until it’s known.
Here’s the thing ; you already possess the most important quality there is to have that will guarantee your future . You possess your own self awareness.
Chances are you may not be doing exactly what you are doing now . Who would want to anyway .
There are other horizons out there . Other companies that are far more moral .
I left last year after 20 years . The first 10 held great efforts and great challenges . The last few years were repugnant.
Ever ever sacrifice your own integrity for a company that has none .
Look for your next move .. the move you want .
Eventually this company will die out . It’s inevitable.
Better job, better pay, better conditions since leaving of my own accord. The only advice I can give is use the time to find a better job instead of just quitting. But, do quit when you find that job and don't look back.
I left DXC in April 2018; as I said to colleagues 'there is only so much of the madness you can take before it ceases to become amusing anymore'.
I am now working for a large consultancy. Whilst all large organisation have their foibles and it certainly isn't the land of milk and honey, the grass IS greener, the company treats people more like grown-ups and the pay's better.
No regrets whatsoever.
Do not be afraid, there are jobs out there for good people.

Best move I ever did. Was going to retire anyway, but the d–kheads gave me a year's salary. Now me BP is normal, no palpitations and really enjoying retirement. Fck dxc. Can't wait til they go tits up!
Left on my own accord (after seeing the shady tactics the company started employing) and am at a 34% increase in salary and much less stress and workload in the time I've been gone. No regrets whatsoever.
