DXC CR - Make sure the numbers are correct

Anyone who is at risk of CR needs to make sure their numbers are correct.
I have been quoted numbers that do not even meet the UK statutory regulations. When questioning it get a stock response from HR helpdesk in India that doesn't even understand the facts

I was made redundant many years ago when I worked for another company and they did not follow any of the rules for redundancy, however a friend who worked in HR somewhere else recommended that I take the [substantial] payoff that I was being offered and walk as to take it to an industrial tribunal would have taken months and I would have got less than they were offering. So that's what I did.
I did take some enjoyment from the fact that they had to bring two people in from another department a week after making me redundant as they couldn't cope with the amount of work that I had been dealing with - not exactly a financially good decision on their part, but at least by leaving quietly I can always go back there if the opportunity comes up.
I'm still waiting for a VR offer from DXC or a decision that that they won't let me go - seeing as I'm not in a CR pool I don't hold out any hope of an offer...

Be very very clear as to when you have been made redundant from, it does not start at the begining of the process for example. Other areas such as holidays etc. Also your redundancy could be an unfair dismissal if DXC has suitable alternative employment and they do not offer it to you. Like most things DXC does this is being poorly executed so don't assume it must be you not understanding the process rather than DXC incompetence. https://www.gov.uk/redundant-your-rights useful source.
