I left Intel three years ago (not ISP, was just sick of the BS). Worked in the modem department. I tried to keep in touch with some people, but many just didn't seem to care.
Well, whaddayaknow.... all of a sudden, I get a HUGE flood of Linkedin requests from former colleagues. How come? Oh... let me guess... people know they are gonna get laid off soon, and they see that I got a nice job at a profitable company, and now they think they can use me as their own personal recruiter to get a foot in the door there. Right? After not bothering for three years to maintain any kind of contact, I have suddenly become incredibly interesting to them.
Seriously, if you were too DUMB to stick with a business unit that was clearly moving at the speed of sound towards a huge brick wall, then you are also too DUMB to work at my company. If it wasn't obvious to you that we would never become profitable, if it wasn't obvious to you that we had hit a dead end with our product and if it wasn't obvious to you that Intel was treating you like dirty roaches, then I think you really really really deserve unemployment. So stop flooding my Linkedin inbox.
