Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Parking credit going away!

Windstream will begin to phase out paying their portion of parking soon. Just as they did when they phased out the cellphone program to pay bonuses. All employees where free parking isn't already provided will beging to be responsible for the full cost.

If the leaders of Windstream had any sense, they would allow everyone to work from home. We have the ability to work remotely and probably be more productive, less BS and goofing off. Every Manager can see our monitors and exactly what we are doing. Extensions work from our computers/laptops currently. We are required to take our laptops home each night anyway. What a great disaster plan too! Working from home saves the company and the employees a ton of money, how cool would that be!

I speak from experience - as I was one who was given a hour to clean out my desk. And I do not disagree with your TT comments - just looking at it from a different angle. In reality, how important is a 'parking credit' - or any such perk? Perhaps if these types of expenses had been shaved a while back, some could still have their jobs.

"Would you rather get laid off, or pay for your own parking?": - sounds like something straight out of TT's mouth. Similar to 'Windsream is not a jail and we do not lock the doors.'.
You know TT. He is the Ah00le that requires incentive after incentive to further screw up Windstream while telling the vast majority of the company that should be happy just being his minion.
In regards the jail statement - Just think how much better shape Windstream would be in today if they had locked the doors 4 years ago and told TT to go pound sand.

Would you rather get laid off, or pay for your own parking? Apparently they are looking to pinch pennies - something perhaps they should have done long ago. Coffee and toilet paper going away soon too....LOL

As far as Greenvile. We are not always allowed to work from home due to id–t managers. We have to go a certain amount of days per week. So if you don't know what you are talking about, pls refrain from typing!

Damn someone must have a crystal f—ing ball. I was just advised today instead paying 50% or $40 a month for my parking. I would now be responsible for 100% of the cost. Starting August 1st I would be billed $80.

Greenville is not free. Never has been and it depends on where you park as to how much cost. You either park in a city lot or Lanier parking.

That must depend on the office? I am not sure where you are located but our is free
and was part of our lease when it was negotiated. They just renewed and expanded and
this question has already come up. Some people were given the option to work from home,
that saves the company about $10,000/year per person in real estate and office equipment.
