That is one expensive office space in SIngapore... right in the middle of the business district where rentals and car parks costs an arm and leg.
Hearing all apac except japan and ANZ gone. Pretty much everyone in all management / functions / sales & SE. Tough times all round
Yeah super agree - now they gotta worry what happens to their Class A/B shares they invested too wondering what happenes to that ...anyway I agree with the posters below that it’s not in the Asian culture / pride to discuss about something like this ...
Feeling so sad and sorry for them all esp the lady that sacrificed her family and put her heart mind and soul into the co together with her 2 team mates striving so hard daily to keep operations going ...Such a close knitted team that eats / breathes / Shops together disbanded ?!?! Awwww the horror !! Gasssppp ....Wonder if they received Lay-off packages ?!?
I think that nobody can believe hat a company that was awesome to work for has actually turned to $hit
Riverbed Sydney recently downsized to a new office from Pitt St to King St.
Sydney TAC downsized to 1 (!) EE. Confirm that AU/NZ Sales teams survived, and confirm rest of APAC in-region Sales has been let go. Singapore TAC appears untouched.
I am ex-Riverbed in the APAC region; I left right after TB acquired.
It is not firewalled out; it's just not in the local culture to do public outcries or make comments on fora - we perceive it as a shameful event even when we are not to be blamed for it.
Here is what I picked up:
- Allegedly, Singapore office closing along with 5 other offices in the region.
- 32 people in Singapore let go; again, allegedly, all sales are gone.
- Singapore government has already taken action and banned Riverbed from one of the large ongoing tenders. Historically, SG Govt was always a double-digit contributor to the business in APAC.
- Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia all but one are gone.
- Jakarta/Indonesia all are gone.
- SVP APAC gone? but that is still a rumor at this point.
This comes on top of what happened back in February when VP Channels APJ / VP Marketing APJ / VP Sales ASEAN (South-East Asia) were all let go in a single day.
Revenue and number of staff are down more than 50% from when I was still there.
Australia is likely to be the new center of gravity after the dust settles on this round. ANZ has always been the single-largest contributor to the overall APAC business.
Hmmm possibly either that or the folks there are too shell shocked to react ?
APAC never responds .. maybe this site is firewalled out
