Push back on age discrimination at DXC

You can push back if you feel you are being discriminated on age ; I did. I invested $2,000 in a lawyer to represent me and received a 4 month severance from DXC HR in the USA. It was worth it.
Document your facts and put it forth via a lawyer to HR. For those of you in a similar situation; flood HR with discrimination suits and they will settle. There is strength in volume and HR will take notice and try to settle if your claim has reasonable merit even if DXC can fight back. Overwhelm them with age suits and see what happens. Make a small investment in a lawyer to represent you and they will settle albeit for a smaller payment you wanted ( I wanted 1 year)....but got 4 months and left DXC with money in the bank from them and a new job.

@103rBzgZ-2wgq - or best still don't sign the paper, do an appeal against WFR, get union's involve, pull your HR record and then decide whether then to accept the WFR or take DXC to employment tribunal and other course of action/s

Give the company grief back in return and fight the unfair decision of WFR - don't just accept their decision to WFR.

A condition of a CR or WFR is your written acceptance of an agreement to waive legal action against DXC for loss of employment. Go ahead and sign the piece of paper to escape from Club Toxic.

The last thing any large company wants is to go to litigation on an EEO violation claim because that has a documented history. What they do want is to get rid of you asap, and are pretty much buying your silence before a lawsuit is filed and becomes a public record which opens the floodgates. Age discrimination that easily holds up are those where a manager says something like "A great job for someone of your age is becoming an online teacher" or is really stupid and says something negative about "gray haired programmers" in general.

We're all lucky that we get anything. The executives only care about their own enrichment, not customers or employees. Their actions and the results speak volumes about their negligence and incompetence. The board should be held accountable for letting the company degrade this much.

Meanwhile in Australia for DXC employees under the EDS enterprise agreement the payout is a generous 3 weeks pay per year of service to maximum of 40 weeks (equates to 13.33 years of service), most likely free of any government taxes. Why reject a WFR with those generous terms?

In US, max is 8 weeks of severance.

It's so shocking in the USA, you should have 6 months pay if you've done loads of years. Have fun sport.
