Heard of RIFs in IT.
True?
Which parts?
I have heard of RIF's coming across all dept's and areas beginning in August and continue into 2020.
work until the RIF. Be Proud of what you have done.
Work smarter, not harder
Yes, they are still laying off. IT seems to be the target.
We can't "work, work, work" if you keep laying "off, off, off"....D.A.
Work work work, get the stock to 60!!!
Wouldn't it be nice if Senior Management asked employees to volunteer to get RIF'd. I think this would be great. The employees that are just waiting to get RIF'd would be set free and the ones that want to hang on longer would be able to. There are so many employees that want to be RIF'd and yet so many employees that don't want to and want to stay and see if the company will turn around. This would accomplish more than McKinsey can. McKinsey will make recommendations and a lot of the dedicated people that want to take a chance will stay. Set the people free that want to be RIF'd and do it in a professional way. That is the way a lot of other companies handle downsizing and it seems to work for them.
The sad part is that most of these jobs are going overseas, India, Philippines. On the positive side, we have an excellent economy and robust job openings. I hope and pray that it continues being healthy passing 2020, as we are facing more RIFs. We cannot tolerate a slow economy. My friend was laid off, and she found a job within a month, earning more money.
Re the post of About 500 people across global foot print. Does this pertain just to IT or other departments?
About 500 people across global foot print. Regular actions to happen nearly every month going forward.
No wonder so many TAPs are leaving.
Corporate and Investment IT had many RIFs including myself.
