What's going on with those 1:1s? Has anybody had theirs yet? What happened? Is there any chance it's something other than layoffs?

What type of organization goes through the effort of hiring people just to lay them off 2 and 3 months later? Three year olds have longer attention spans. Do they have a direction or not. Why are future resources going to have any faith in the company?
SC promised to disrupt things. This must be what they meant.
A couple of months on payroll? anything for every year worked?
I got a couple of months severance, but they seemed to indicate that not everyone would qualify. No idea how they determined who was let go and who was kept. Even Sr. Managers didn't know who would be impacted until yesterday.

To those who are sitting around 'waiting' for a payoff my advice is don't. I went through it many years ago while my colleagues stayed behind waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. The bitterness set in, they got no pay-rises, and they waited some more, no promotions - basically career on ice for a decade. Then they finally got the payout, which was far less than what they would have made in decent pay over the course of the decade and came into a workforce less skilled and on much less competitive pay grades. Wake up and smell the ethanol, TB will bleed you to the point of extinction before casting you aside like a withered prune. No one owes you anything except yourself.... get out, get motivated, and get on with your lives.
For the one who just got the notice, where are you located? Would you be willing to share your group?
Yup, just got the notice. I'm gone. Not sure how many are impacted yet.
Wow this would be the third in less than a year and the second in 4 months. We’ve now all had plenty of warning. Those of us still remaining are probably 1) enjoying a lofty title/pay they can’t get elsewhere or 2) hoping to get a package?
By here, I mean in the US.
