Who now push unconventionals in South America as The Next Big Shiny Thing... now give us new add-on Exploration in Alaska... what could go wrong?

The best part of this is that we paid a headhunter $1.2 million to “find The Finder” who actually then lost billions for us. The Finder was so brilliant he clicked on a phishing email and exposed us. The Finder was “retired” with a $13 million severance after hand-picking our current Exploration leaders.

Not sure how RLooney and his band of misfit Brits still have jobs. COP spent billions offshore with nothing to show while at the same time missing the boat in L48 (coulda sold off Eagle Fart for pennies also, so close!). Destroying value? Now the same inept group tries to push international unconventionals after Mr Looney claimed ‘they s—’ in a townhall to his group several years ago.
How long have they looked at the AK plays only to jump on the bandwagon after success by smaller independents, hhmmm L48 repeat? COP doesn’t actually explore, they farm in or buy things anyway. Not so sure why they have such a large group. How is Willow or the AC working out? The sound of crickets or any semblance of positivity coming from both projects leads one to believe they are both c-ap, so at least little E is still on the failure roll. Come September/October lay-off time I am sure they will all keep their jobs though.

Yes, we should be proud that we spent a billion in the Chukchi Sea and never drilled a well... like the billion in Deepwater GOM leases and never drilled wells... good job, Exploration.
ConocoPhillips lost less in the Chukchi because they never drilled a well. Can't take a shot if you don't drill a well. That's asinine logic in previous posts. GOM exploration was piss poor. Exploration has never been a strong suit of COP, mostly because they were the last in on a basin and didn't do due diligence or technical work properly. Don't kid yourself, exploration is a risky business, but COP is one of the worst at it. Any success in Alaska has and will be due to small real explorers finding oil and COP either buying them out or getting adjacent acreage to a non-COP discovery.
The hockey great, Wayne Gretzky, once said, “you miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.” Although that’s obviously true, it’s also true that nobody would be quoting Wayne Gretzky if he hadn’t scored a lot of goals. How many “goals” has ConocoPhillips Exploration scored?

Actually Conoco lost less than many in attempts to explore, discover, produce in Chukchi Sea. Royal Dutch Shell lost $7Bn+, Repsol $4Bn+, Exxon undisclosed, etc.. Cost of doing business, you have to play if you want a chance to win.
