"Then why did the union officers with 5-15 years less time than myself in the same job title get to stay and I was pushed out the door? Care to explain that Mr. Knowitall, is it because I did not have golden knee pads, I know theirs must be super worn out by now."
RCA's have a lot to do with it also, Title, Seniority, RCA's
"Union Layoffs must be done by inverse seniority within a given job title"

What really s—s is I was laid off with ONLY 7 years seniority... because Alexander Graham Bell was still working in my District and was senior to me. He could not even spell DSL, HSI or PRISM!
"Union Layoffs must be done by inverse seniority within a given job title even though techs often have very different skill sets and responsibilities within that title. Management tries to separate these titles to be able to eliminate targeted techs without eliminating younger techs of a particular skill set."
To expand:
This also allows the company to circumvent seniority which is one of the features of working under Union protection. Another feature with combined titles is that if a given area has lower average seniority it may stay off the company from cutting too many positions in that title thus saving jobs. By dicing up job titles and functions it allows the company to target, almost to the individual, positions for layoff. When this happens you lose the security of your years of service. Folks from strong Union states will recognize this at once. Convincing the Union of these benefits in certain other places has been futile. You should argue with your local for combining titles.

True but the Union has to approve new titles under agreements and scales and responsibilities, and they can't take a represented title and move it to one that is not. Why we have Network Technicians and Operations technicians. Both titles do essentially the exact same thing.
When they brought in the Broadband title they had to approve it. They did so saying it was entry and a stepping stone at cheaper pay. We know how that changed.

This may be a slight of hand to make Job Titles for Union and Non Represented appear different, the Union contract has tiers based on titles and the job responsibilities of each one. Look at the old job specifics and the new under the new titles and see if there is a difference.
Supervisor Regional Operations 2nd level
Sro is a supervisor
Can someone tell me what an SRO is? Is that a manager or supervisor ? I'm with national and we don't have SRO'S, Thanks !!
When level 0 took over, my job title changed twice. Even the SRO didn't know they did it, and had to call Novak to find out what was up. Nothing changed other than the title. You can be sure there is something to the change though, they are scamming someone.
Careful of what?
I guess I don’t see what the issue is. Please explain. We all are technically field technician.
Big deal. I was told a month ago my job was being eliminated. Now, they can't even decide when. It's always end of the pay period. Then, that comes and goes and nobody knows anything. Oh, and don't tell the other techs.
Where ? Is Florida included?
