Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Will layoffs continue until the end?

DXC is not in a good place, we all know that. I just keep on wondering are layoffs going to continue until the company goes down, or is the leadership going to trz to make a turnaround with a steady workforce at some point. Have we passed the line of no return?

Here's the thing I keep saying. Lawrie could (and should by all rights) have walked away after the merger when he got his huge check. If he had any sense, he would have set himself up as a VC and walked off into the sunset. The fact that he didn't means he has some other weird motivation.

I think he'll ride it into the ground.

Don't get me wrong, he won't suffer any. He'll sell off the remainder of the company's assets enough to make investors happy and wipe his eyes with million-dollar sell-off vouchers.

The ‘leadership’? Not even sure what that term means in the context of DXC. Given DXC’s track record of very poor growth in its digital offerings and it successfully being able to create an atmosphere in which no skilled or sane person wants to work (respecting those that are staying to wait for the layout to justify all their years of hard work) then one can only conclude the strategy of cuts will continue to the end until all the assets are sweated.

I work with clients who have long since moved on from DXC and plugged the gaps either by themselves (and done a far better job) or with much more competitive digital partners who have pedigree and expansion.

I have since worked (and continue to work with) digital transformation companies out there who provide digital transformation in a practical way that understands client needs without all the unnecessary bloat and cost of DXC and the appalling lack of skills once they sell something to the client. I’ve seen some excellent proactive monitoring and innovation between suppliers and partners which I have not seen since the early days of CSC.

So yes they will cut to the end and run off with the millions.

I agree with ihv. DXC/CSC/HPE will disappear. Mikey will walk away and retire with endless millions in his various bank accounts, spending time at his various homes after his campaign of destruction. All the while, the Board of Directors has rubber-stamped all this and will slither away to find other companies to victimize.

The layoffs will continue, but the company will not "go down". Sadly there won't be a turnaround either.

Lawrie doesn't know how to grow the company in a changing market and revenue will continue to decline. Cost cutting will continue in an attempt to shore up the profit margins. You cannot cut your way to prosperity and revenue will continue to decline.

It may take a couple of years but what's left of DXC will eventually be bought by one of the large Indian outsourcing companies.

Layoffs will continue as long as clients keep leaving and the stock price declines. Clients will keep leaving due to layoffs and non-delivery of services. ML will keep laying off in order to keep the stock price from declining. The key word in your question is leadership. There is none and therefore you can walk around with sandwich boards proclaiming, "The end is near!"
