Every 7 years I declare bk, then slowly get a bunch of credit cards, fill them up, and declare bk again. Is there a way a company like Sears can do this to keep surviving ?
Sears in the 90's and early 2000's
I worked on the district and regional staff in the 1990's and early 2000's. At that time Sears had thousands of stores and over 300,000 employees. Today we have or will have 400 stores and 50,000 employees. No one talks about those 250,000+ employees... — read more
I've never seen a turd circle the bowl so many times without going down..
That's the best description where Sears is today .But who thought that after the lemon had been squeezed dry that you could get away with pretending to be planting a new seed from the empty fruit. Painfully slow death... the worst.
To my fellow sears employees
Lots of false rumors and inaccurate Info being spread here. Eddie, monster though he is, has in fact made a reasonable offer and will most likely be the winner once everything shakes out. We will be down to 400 plus stores but we will survive. The... — read more
If the liquidators bid even $1 more than Eddie, it’s over
Chapter 7 is definitely still on the table. Eddies bidding along with the liquidators. If his bid is higher than the liquidators, sears lives on, assuming he can change the relationship with all the vendors about to get screwed in the process (and... — read more
Eddie's $4.4B bid is conditioned on creditors releasing ESL from lawsuits. It's not a real bid.
His alternative bid for $1.8B for just the real estate assets is the real bid. Sears and Kmart are done.

Eddie put a backup bid in in case his original bid is not accepted
All roads pointing to liquidation. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/02/eddie-lampert-offers-to-save-sears-or-salvage-in-partial-liquidation.html
We find out on friday if Eddie's bid is goning to be accepted
Things arent looking good and I don't even believe that Eddie's bid could change a lot for sears, but I think that we will have a more clear view of what's to come... — read more
IChapter 7 and how it effects Round Rock Call Center
What happens to STAC techs, home services technicians and other customer support functions located within the Round Rock building if chapter 7 rears it’s ugly face?
Good at least until June?
Since the 80 stores Sears recently announced as closing will stay open until March, that pretty much means that the rest of the stores are good until at least June? If it takes three months to close stores and, as I'm assuming, no new announcements... — read more
Happy new year - will 2019 be the turnaround year ?
My plan is to reopen all of the stores that have closed, give them complete makeovers, fill them with nice merchandise at reasonable prices, and staff them with competent and friendly employees.
Would you bet against Eddie?
With all the mess that this is, would you bet against him? So the board didn’t want to play and he said fine and balked at the last loan Payment. Now he is the white night and looks like the last hope. Before bankruptcy he was the last hope too. How... — read more
Asking for a friend
Are the Call Centers closed overseas? What's going on with Home Services?
I notice from the docket that Sears is trying to stiff the HE school district for six years of back taxes
Trying to sneak it in while school's out and have it all done before school's even back in session
Eddies great, Eddies good let us thank him for all thats good.

From crisis comes opportunity
In my humble opinion there is no positive outcome for the workers at Sears, no matter what scenario pans out. Sooner or later Sears will be gone and everybody will bee out of a job. But upside is that, what ever scenario becomes reality, layoffs... — read more
More diversions from the inevitable
I can’t say that I feel even a little relief, hope, much less euphoria which I’ve seen people express on this board and even at the company, about the last minute -bid from Eddie. Don’t want to be the voice of doom, or rub salt on to anyone’s wound ... — read more
Hats off
Think what you want about Eddie, but how good do you have to be in order to continuously find people who are willing to continue financing this sinking ship? It is obvious to everybody and their grandmothers by now that Sears is dead, and yet people... — read more
The way this company lingers on its death bed, I may get my 15 year pin
Even though it’s 3 years away, I might get my pin the way this company just won’t die! Lol I’m glad I found another job and only have to work at sears one day a week. It’s amazing the differences in my new company I only do one thing for more money... — read more
The important question no one's asking
Just what the hell did Eddie promise to BoA, Citi, and RBC to get them to pony up $950M? What are the terms? He could barely get liquidators like Great American and Shady dealers like Cyrus into the mix, and suddenly BoA and Citi show up? It's... — read more
Conflict of Interest
Eddie was CEO and Chairman of the Board of Sears. Does anyone believe for a nanosecond that he prioritized Sears' survival with the same consideration he gives Seritage and ESL?
How did my store miss each and every closing list?
Did a whopping $1467.83 in sales by close today. Thanksgiving and Black Friday was a flop. And this store and ones like it are supposed to be the ones going forward? Please!
I walk out of here next week with many regrets.
Don't ask me who I am, because I won't say---I have good reasons. I will tell you this: I have worked for Sears for several years after leaving a similar high paying position with another major retailer. Sears has paid me well in my current position... — read more
To breath another day.
I'm not a shill, and I'm not Lampert. I'm an entrepreneur who enjoys creating. I've been operating since the early 80s. 1) dust settles with 400ish shell footprints. 2)but 600ish SHOS stores remain as well. Kudos to Lampert'$ team for moving that... — read more
323 was the final number.
Right as the company went bankrupt there was a number of store files passed around trying to determine the go forward number. Eddie said let’s go with all of them as the restructure org. There where a lot of dogs on that list. Remember top 100 stores... — read more
There's a s---er born every minute
