Why doesn’t Eddie or the 3 CEO’s realize this program is a drain on store profits? They all have sight of the Profit and Loss statements and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see this program is greatly hurting us. It has been in affect for years and we have not seen the ROI that was expected. Has never consistently been over 70% used and has not increased customer frequency. Not to mention people who have figured out how to abuse it and make money off of it. Get rid of this program and stores will again become profitable. Since the Town Halls are scripted and real questions are never asked I would love to hear some in-depth analysts of how “they” see this program being effective.

Sears data could have been valued, except Eddie and the three bozos could never make heads of tails of it, focusing hard on metrics to make the company lose money as fast as humanly possible. It'd doubtful that any group of people could have lost as much money as quickly if they deliberately tried.
SYW dead? They’re giving points hand over fist! Stack a few of those $300 on $300, $150 on $150, $60 on $60 etc. simultaneously (or from the stores and the individual websites because the deal is often separated between them) and you can get like $100 a week. Then you can go get some expensive tool sets, power tools etc. If you choose the sale ones you can sometimes get two. So you buy a grill, lawnmower and air conditioner then take home 10 power tools or tool sets too. Seems like a winning strategy to me.
Data is very valuable. Contact information and data on what people buy can be sold to companies looking for "leads" on customers. It is easier to sell a college savings plan to someone who has a kid and a person buying baby cloths, toys and furniture would indicate they have one.
Very often, I find that the exact same product has a lower price at other retailers. Once the rewards program is shutdown, I don't see why members will want to continue shopping at Sears.
I've kept saying this until I'm blue in the damn face but the OP is right. The whole SYW system is not making money for Sears or Kmart, it DRAINS money. The only person that wins in this is the customer.
How are the sales, profits, foot traffic going these days? Now that the SYW program is practically dead, did any of the numbers improve?
Our store had 250k in syw points redeemed last year and we lost over 500k as a store I heard,but we met our metric in protection plans that's all that really matters at this point is to hit their metrics they have in place and magically they will make a turnaround after sitting at 50% of the sales from last year on a daily basis
Profit?
Where does exactly Shop Your Ways points (and I really mean $$) come from? Free cash & bonus points like we really have $$ to give away! When was the last pay raise? Those that know how to use the program s--- it dry.
Buying big ticket items below cost on VOM getting the 15-20 dollars a week back in points for 20 weeks and redeeming them every week you can get a bunch of free stuff and sell a lot of their stuff they put on VOM for more then what you paid
@ZjS8qqZ-zux What about sweeps?
Not exactly abuse, but if someone were to grind playing sweeps, they could get lots of points without spending any real money.
Eddie and Leena have the patents on SYWR. Look it up. It's their genious baby to transforming Sears.
How exactly has anyone abused shop your way. You buy stuff and get points or you don't, where does cheating come into it?
collect people's data and enroll them in credit is what sears is all about they don't care about profit margins
