Well after a week to let the news sink in, I have to say that being let go was the best thing that ever happened to me. I did n't not realize how miserable I was from the abuse I took from management and my co-workers. I use to wake up dreading getting out of bed going into work. Knowing that my co-workers were back stabbers and my management was incompetent and went along with their buddies in not working to help train or perform anyone in their jobs. The first few days I was down and feeling hopeless but the last few I have woke up and realized I slept better not dreading working in such a toxic environment. For many years I worked at Ford and stayed loyal to the company despite other offers because that is what I was always taught that loyalty would pay off. Maybe that is right but I was wrong in what I was loyal to. I was loyal to Ford and not myself. I am so glad that I now can take a few weeks off to prepare myself to find a better job that I am happier going to. Maybe it will not pay as much but I there is no way it will be as toxic as the Ford work environment. I am so glad to be done with this company that does not invest in their employees, or try to make them more rounded better workers. I pray for those who are still there and feel the way I did. The rest of the people I hope one day the buddy buddy system and the brown nosers get what they deserve. Maybe if they bring in new leadership at the top it can change?

Four work days = 4day * 8hr/day = nominally 32 hrs effort, but typically you can count on only 50% productivity due to various distactions/meetings. So saying 4 days is like saying "I need 25-30 hrs" to do the job. The BS comes when you say it'll take me 96 hrs and the bossman divides that by 24 hr/day coming up with an utterly unrealistic "four days" that makes him look good when telling his bosses how long a job wil take.
@fcqx I'm sorry, I gotta ask. What is the difference between "4 days" and "96 hours?"
I never worked there. Years and years ago (almost 30) I did work for an expediter trucking firm that worked almost exclusively for Ford. I saw up close (from the outside in) the ruthless lying and backstabbing that went on at almost every level and mostly from "middle management" including one manager that didn't / couldn't / wouldn't understand the difference between "4 days" and "96 hours." I was amazed a single car got built at all with the badly behaving, childish arguments and B.S. I happened to witness.
Many of these types of people NEEDED to get the boot. They were lazy, overpaid ogres and always looking to make noise to make themselves feel relevant and they never hesitated to use lying to guarantee their next paycheck. They somehow believe that a title of "manager" is a license to berate, belittle, threaten and mistreat workers. Or they simply thought that was the way they were supposed to act.
Unfortunately, I'm sure that there are still some like this that will be anchored there like bad tooth.
I decided back then not to work for any large company and have always worked for myself. I've learned over the years how to adapt and how to do it quickly. The work is never-ending, and the perks are not cushy by any means, but at the same time rewarding because I own what I buil for myselft and there is no one that can fire me. Ever.
You can do it too. It's never too late.

Oh this is so spot on. Embarrassing watching the LL5 & LL6 in my group host a home coming queen contest. The LL6 & LL5 are so out of it socially that he/she hopes to fit in.
It is $U^King embarrassing.
Thanks for speaking from the heart. I think so many people feel alone and alienated by what you have shared above. There are good people at Ford, however it is not a marketable skill. They are not rewarded because they focus on product, not B.S. The sell your soul crowd runs the roost there. No wonder why so many of our recent offerings have been so blah, unfocused, un-inspirational. Take the Ranger, JFC did they make the most boring, dated looking vehicle. Even tooled an all new plant to just be competitive? I think the only ones I have saw on the road are management role leases. I give it 6 months, and they will have to offer the $6K in the glove box option. Leadership should be demoted for that piss poor offering.

Thanks for your thoughts, which area, which building were you working? It's sad to hear we got so many back stabbers there...glad you are done with this.
Has anyone have experience, good or bad, with J.G. Wentworth to get their money "now", instead of waiting for later?
