Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

The plan is to overwork us until we’re no use for the company

It sickens me to see how they treat the workers as an asset and a resource, but, let’s face it, they’re not even trying to hide that way of conducting with the employees. So lesser pay, more work, impossible scheduling comes hardly as a surprise. I’m hoping that will change some day, but until that time comes, I think we need to be ready for absolutely anything

@ZfnYyVm-3wij - 'asstiance managers'. Wow....

And yeah, keep wishing for things like that. It was all fun and games when Co-Managers got purged wasn't it? Who did you all think would be next? Hourly associates. Why don't you ask some of the PC/TC's how that feels? There are a lot more of you to cull than there are salaried management to get rid of.

This site used to be a somewhat decent source of info on changes in the company but seems lately it's just a b--chfest. If you don't like your job get an education or trade and go work elsewhere. News flash...Walmart is a for-profit company and they have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to turn as much of a profit as they can. To that end you are just a resource to use to make them money. Sorry but that's the brutal truth and there's nothing you can do about it!

On a related note:

It's getting positively creepy. Kroger Corporation is now screening their salaried management applicants on basis of having psychology degrees. Historically, any kind of degree would get you in, but psych major is now the big thing. This is v e r y creepy, and you probably don't need to ponder the reasoning, but here it is: when you have the training to spot someone who is suffering from, say, major depression and/or anxiety/panic disorder (they're kinda cousins of each other), you have the skills to manipulate that person and bend them to your will and, basically, use and abuse them into getting whatever you want from them. And that's worse that creepy, it's evil. I can easily see Walmart going this route with their management applicants.
