People were let go in UHC. Small amount that I am aware of. At the director level. Most with 15+ years experience

The way I read the original poster - the quarter is ending and judging by the results, stakeholders are gonna ask for some action. That usually means job cuts, so no one is safe.

Not very original post, he was stating the obvious, but nothing untruthful there.

Hello

I posted as @ZJXpmgK-1hdr

Here are my responses to your statements:

  1. " this board is for anonymity thats why people post anonymous".

Time to test your reading comprehension skills. Please read every sentence in this thread and point out ANY sentence where ANYONE asked that people post personally-identifiable information about anyone who was let go. (Answer: There are none).

  1. "looks like phishing to me"

Looks like you don't know what the word phishing means. Here is the definition from Dictionary.com, please point out ANY signs of 'phishing' in ANY sentence in ANY post in this thread (Answer: there are none).

'to try to obtain financial or other confidential information from Internet users, typically by sending an email that looks as if it is from a legitimate organization, usually a financial institution, but contains a link to a fake website that replicates the real one.'

  1. "Looking to get someone in trouble."

I spent several minutes pondering this statement, but I couldn't come up with a clue as to what you're driving at.

At this point, I'm removing this site from my favorites as it's pointless to come here for any pertinent information. Good luck to all.

Hello:

I posted below as @ZJXpmgK-1hdr.

I didn't suggest that we post the names of people who were laid off or their personal information.

My request was that we post usable information about layoffs (eg, office name, division, job title, number affected) that would allow us to better understand how the corporate policy of staff reduction is playing out, since the information is never released publicly. We can only know about staff reductions thru a forum like this.

I agree with @ZJXpmgK-3uvz. A post such as '10 CSRs let go in I-Falls effective June 30" or "5 developers let go in Basking Ridge effective June 30" would suffice.

In my experience, people were laid off in the building where I work and I didn't know about it because they were walked out of the door before lunch (no opportunity to say goodbye) and their work was given to someone else and that was that. I only realized they were let go after their work email accounts were disabled a short time later.

PII is any data that could potentially be used to identify a particular person. That includes all you listed, but it’s not limited to that. For example, if there is only one Steve in my office, if I posted his name and named the office, I posted the PII about him, as he can be easily identified. And if he was the only person holding that particular position at certain location, than he could be identified just by revealing info about position+location.

On the other hand, I do agree with you on this part - too vague statements don’t help anyone and OPs should provide more info in their posts.

Think you gotta balance it out, statements like “ten technicians in Florida”, “20 in customers service” or “3 people in Greensboro” are informative enough, yet too vague to identify anybody.

Personally Identifiable Info are name, address, phone number, social security number, member/subscriber ID, etc. PII is not office name, division, job title and number of employees. I agree that statements like “end of quarter - nobody is safe” are vague and mysterious; kinda like a lot of meetings in which we waste our lives away in Corporate America, haha.

1hdr, I see your point, but people write what they think it’s safe to write. You need to be aware that providing that much detail (at least for some offices) would mean leaving too much personally identifiable info. For one, that is not allowed here, and even if it was, think it would be cruel to those affected.

Attention to those who post on this board.

If I wanted to read vague, mysterious statements about the future (eg: "End of the quarter - nobody is safe") I'd read Nostradamus.

If you have information to report about Optum layoffs, please provide the following:

  1. Name of the office

  2. Name of the division (eg, operations, sales, IT)

  3. Job title affected

  4. Number of employees affected

If you can't provide this level of detail, don't bother posting.
