Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Job Cuts

Looks like all this IBO talk was all b---s---. No positions were eliminated in the stores. We even filled positions in our store that were so called being eliminated. I still would be searching for better job since you know things can change at anytime.

@3dnl Where is your source for your "facts" concerning store closing lists and dates? Until you can back it up with facts it is just more rumors and fake news while you try to make yourself look and feel important.

Love to see the dates the stores are closing, is it one batch or two batches with different dates

The new company already has a list of stores to close and stores to maintain. They have dates too. If you see hiring being done and inventory coming in, then that is a go forward store. If you see stagnant inventory and huge sales push, then start looking for a job. Another hint is LP folks coming in.

Unfortunalely, Eddie still employs a PR troll to lurk this website. Funny how any negative comment gets met with some net opposition here.

There has been hiring here too. The thing is after spending $5 billion on this it is in Eddie’s vested interest to somehow make this work.

Thing is he doesn’t know how.

I’ve seen them distributing paper ads again.

Bringing in a ton of mattresses, grills and tools. It’s like throwing stuff at known strong categories and hoping something sticks.

I still think he should finish restocking the stores, the Kmarts are looking a lot better, and just do a TV advertising blitz.

@1cen No positions were eliminated in our store either. We actually did quite a bit of hiring. If you are in a store with a lot of restructuring look out.

There was a lot of restructuring. You're just not in the loop.

Wow, Sears still around.

Is there a current listing of stores? I used to do work for them years ago, any in Ohio?
