Get ready for a major shakeup. This week confirmed by a source at corp, all full time and asm's are going to be history. The supervisor positions are the only full time available anymore. Asm's will have a chance to become supervisors and bump current ones. A huge cut in pay though. With sales way down an profit margins awful this is the only way to go. So sad to see so many good full timers go but no one cares. Sad!!

Ya at our sears in California we have 1 store manager 3 ASM 3 Softlines leads a hard lines lead and LP that is worthless leaves all times of day when on clock. And we have a sporting goods specialist, and 3 full timers and jewelry lead. So what do u think is gona happen!!!

@2bws I was thinking the same thing and technically if there were changes they would have taken effect yesterday on a Sunday. Maybe Eddie didn't want to screw up Mother's Day.

@Z0it31m-1rbb Our store is open 98 hrs per week and we have sm, 1 asm, 3 key carriers. Staffing in jewelry according to Corp is suppose to be 45 hrs per week. There are only 60 employees for our store counting all mgmt and Lp. You figure out what’s going to happen.
Stores knowingly violate the company policies everyday. If they did not they could not operate. As for AP they have been either non existent and a joke for years. If we actually went by the book we could not even open the store. And everyone knows it, bit turns a blind eye. And if you bring it up you are looked down upon. Toxic atmosphere. Toxic management. Toxic company.
I wish that people would actually post facts since this is anonymous and not speculate. We all have thoughts of what might happen, but please people just post facts. We all have been hearing about the full-time positions being eliminated since forever. We only need to hear actual facts from credible sources.
Basically it doesn't matter. Land and buildings is all he wanted. He don't care about the workforce. Piece by piece it will all be sold off.

@1kzu We operated our Sears store for the past 2 to 3 years with only a Lead running the store for hours on end on numerous occasions. This Lead opened alone and closed alone also. They were also allowed to enter and leave the store alone. This went on for 2 to 3 times a week. Sears (Oldco) guidelines didn't mean squat. By the way, it's still going on under (Newco).

how cute that you think a requirement means anything. I worked at Kmart so maybe it’s different at Sears? I can’t tell you how many times I was on my own in the store as a key carrier for 8+ hours with no coverage for breaks/lunch. We were without an SM for a month and a half with a couple key carriers and HR to run the show. Most of the time we took what we called a fake lunch. What a joke of a c-appy a-- company
Store is open 72 hours a week. And 101 hours when you add cleaning crew hours and one hour after store closing to RAD/RAN and closing procedures.
Right now with current staff it’s hard if more managers or leads are laid off it will be impossible.
Up to now under sears guidelines (Oldco) we were required to have at least two members of management staff at the store at all times. Lately it has been one checklist and one hourly lead.
If we are down to only 2 checklist managers and 5 leads how are we supposed to cover all store hours with less managers??
The stores are going to go down the drain if there is no one to assist associates and members when problems arise on the sales floor.
@cuj Our Sears store has both an ASM Store Support and also a Store Support Supervisor. It also has 2 Store Support Leads. We are a very large A store located in a very large metropolitan area in California.

Are you talking about leads or zone supervisors when you say “supervisors”? Stores will never have both a zone supervisor and an ASM, it’s one or the other. (A zone supervisor is simply the title for a non-salaried ASM) Leads can and do coexist with both.
Oh wow! 7 stores in our area STILL have one to two Asm's. Also 2 supervisors, hardlines and softlines. Loss prevention is a useless position.

Loss Prevention Is no longer needed. We have Steve Wiser doing shrink walks 24/7.
ASMs have been getting bumped to supervisors for over two years now. This isn’t anything new. There’s also no one for them to “bump,” because stores have either an ASM or equivalent supervisor, but not both. Leads will evaporate, but that’s been suspected for quite some time. The pay rates for ASMs will show a bump when they go hourly due to a strict 40 a week with no unpaid OT.
Again though, why should we believe it’s going to happen now? There were multiple posters claiming last week/May 5 in particular was the day the IBO was going to drop. Before that, the same thing kept being said: “next week,” followed by “in the near future” when it inevitably didn’t come to pass.
