There is life after State Street

There is life after State Street. I was RIF'ed last year that found a job in 4 weeks with better salary and benefits. I am 50+. The upside is it is a great employment market.

Over 50 was out of work for 2 years, been working temp jobs for 4 years.

Sadly my temp jobs only last 2 to 6 months.

There is life after any job. It just takes a lot of time to find a new role. You were extremely fortunate. Good luck

@Z03eA7o You are very fortunate to have found a new position in a month and for someone in your age group. I was unemployed for almost a year after losing my position at State Street. Of course I did receive a severance package but that doesn't make up for the lack of employment and low self-esteem that I experienced. I am of course older but with many years of working in the financial services industry and an advanced degree. Currently working for a small unstructured horrible company where I am earning a small fraction of what I earned when I was employed by State Street. Don't really have any idea of what to do next but will probably consider trying to become a real-estate or life insurance agent where unfortunately you have no guaranteed salary. Just my take on the current outsourcing situation that continues to escalate in this country.

I have a large Linkedin network of current and former employee's of State Street and believe me many of them had similar experiences to what I experienced.
