Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

To what degree will chevron want to reduce the Anadarko worker headcount?

In other words the question is what is Chevrons vision how many Anadarko employees will remain employed after the acquisition? Do you think they already have some sort of a plan or strategy regarding who they want to fire and who gets to stay, ore are they still figuring out that part?

I am asking about Gillette Wyoming because I have kids. And since 2016 we have had the poorest management every seen. Will Anadarko be divested and another company takes us over? I hope so. For my families sake.

@ebd, Chevron has nothing in Wyoming, least of all Gillette. If I was laying odds, I’d say that APC asset is a goner. For those of you working there, it will be sold. You will go to the buyer and within 12 months of the deal, you’d be kept on or get laid off.

So you think the people in Gillette Wyoming will be let go or divested to another company?

Chevron employee here...there probably is a very high level plan, but the tactics for the plan are almost certainly fluid. I would almost guarantee the ink is dry on the locations CVX will close. I am sad to sad this but the a Denver office is probably dead and most of the Rockies are on the chopping block; CVX got out of there decades ago. Permian basin is safe, but will move offices. Deep water GOM is likely safe, shelf is gone. Who knows on international, but Mozambique will probably survive.

Head counts will be interesting, because CVX has been hiring externally and there has been a increase in retirements lately. If you're a low or meh performer, just focus of the resume. High performers are probably okay, as they should be. Who the hell knows on management, but in my opinion people closer to the wellhead are safer.

Take care...I have many friends at Anadarko really hope the best for them

Let me point out some history for the OP. How do you pronounce "Texaco" in "ChevronTexaco"? It's silent. This was the going joke while I was at Chevron.

It's sad seeing posts like this from folks who have obviously never seen a takeover before.
