The Feverish Signing of New Contracts Reminds One of Old CBI (and what got them in trouble)

BD chasing and signing anything they could get their hands on; Operations WARNING the qualified resources weren't there to execute the jobs; senior management responding "damn the torpedos," full steam a head.

Went from Wonder to Thunder to Blunder to Plunder.

The company is unethical and they have to hide behind lawyers and security guards.

They are the biggest disgrace I have ever seen for a company.

I got laid off last week and the fat security guard actually grabbed me by my arm to start escorting me out of the building. I pulled my arm away and he quickly informed me that this was only his sideline job and that he was employed by the Sheriffs department as he placed his hand at his gun holster. I told him I dont care and leave his hands off me as I was quite capable of walking myself to my car. He kept his hand on his gun the entire time as he followed me to my car glaring at me with malice. What a horrible experience for anyone to go through. I'll never work for this company again no matter what money they offer to pay me.

The Board of Directors should give executives a big raise. What a awesome company :).

If we get laid off, it will be BJs everyday, not just BJF.

When I worked in Procurement at CBI and the quarter was near, we were told that we were not paying Supplier invoices until notified. Of course we did not tell our Suppliers this. So when a Supplier called looking for payment, we used stall tactics unless it was approved by corporate to release the funds to pay that Supplier. Now how unethical was that!!!!

Or could it be that the project environment is getting better? Even offshore seems to be showing some signs of life after being left for dead. We'll probably see another wave of LNG projects after we get a trade deal. Who knows, could be a good few years. The light at the end of the tunnel may not be a train! And that magic tongue!

All of the signed contracts in the world are not going to help if we don’t start paying suppliers and regain the ability to order materials.
