Thread regarding SAP layoffs

SAP betrayal

We have been loyal to this company, working on projects and skills that are only of value to this company; almost none of us were looking outside or constantly interviewing or fighting amongst ourselves for the s-xiest of trendiest projects.

And now

I have worked for many companies and SAP's HR department is the worse!! There is no accountability within the team, only the low end workers are doing something meaningful. The leaders and HRBPs are totally useless - instead of focusing on helping and supporting the employees which is their main duties - they spend all their time on meaningless programs and attending HR awards conferences.

I think SAP employees finally realize how bad the HR team is when they really needed their support. The sad part is - after this round of cut is done, they will continue to operate the same as before because they are well protected by the top. They should use this "fitness program" to trim the fat within HR also and there is a lot of fat .... Just check out the number of directors and VPs (without any direct reports) that exist within the HR teams, they must be costing the company a lot with no real contribution. Members from the HR teams are afraid to defend themselves because they all know the truth.

Well, SAP will keep winning these meaningless awards and attract more new millennial minions.

The HR teams are patting themselves on the back for a job well done. Meanwhile, the folks that's been laid off are packed up and ready to be booted out the door. What an ironic and sad situation .... :(

You use them, they use you. Never get emotionally attached to a job and be ready to jump if the ship sinks . Nowadays job security it's almost non existent

Companies are not loyal to employees and never will be. It's vitally important you understand that and while working hard and earning your salary and giving the company an honest days work - you keep your head straight and realize you are just a number and prioritize according;y.

Loyalty does not seem to exist in the business world. I remember my company being acquired in the early 90s and us, young engineers, who had worked relentlessly for it, being laid off like the pawns we were. Lesson learned back then.

SAP, in my experience, has been a decent company, treating their workers fairly well, but loyalty? no.

Sorry, but if you don't control your own destiny, no one else will. You ALLOWED yourself to be used.
