Does anyone know the admin password to the Ai laptops? Are they campus specific? Given the abrupt closure I still have my staff laptop and would like to modify the settings.

2sdn; fake news. I already re purposed my laptop with fresh Win/10 and Ubuntu linux. Firmware, your funny.
There is a firmware lock on all dceh and Edmc computers.
If you swap out the hard drive the lock is still on the mother board or on the ram. You can not just reinstall the OS due to the firmware lock. The computers are just bricks at this point.
If you operate the machine in safe mode you should be able to save your data to a hard drive.
Pull the drive as needed/desired and access it as any data drive.
You should turn off the internet connection, copy your data to an external; then do a reinstall and keep it. Recognize that they (in every incarnation) have been stealing from you and yours thru and thru.
The person that would send you anything is likely laid off. This school is collapsing.

My company laptop is more than a decade old and running Windows 7, stuck buttons and faulty mouse pad (had to cover it with a switch plate to keep it from acting up), had to add a wired mouse and keyboard, old graphics card that can’t run newer software graphics, and no way to update it due to the limited memory card.
They should consider the old gear a severance parting gift. LOL
If you were part of the layoff and can still open the laptop and access the internet from it, you can use a private email and email your files to yourself or use an online storage like the cloud, Dropbox or box.net to move personal files off the laptop and access them from another computer.
At some point the receiver needs to send a mailing label (AFTER he send my two weeks missing pay). My laptop is boxed and waiting to go in the post office mailbox.
If you used Outlook, you can open it on the laptop and save or view any email and attachment from before they locked us all out of the system (provided you used it from the software and not just online).
If someone does have the password and wants to share, it’d be nice for people to be able to plug a flash or portable hard drive into the laptop to copy personal files.
I too would like the admin passwords to get into my company computer. I have a few personal documents on the hard drive I would like to remove before I send it back. I am with AUO. Has anyone received information about sending the computer back?
If your password no longer works and you've been laid off, you wont be able to access the laptop. There should have been info mailed to you on how to return the equipment.
