Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Why would anybody want to stay at Juniper?

Is there one person who believes they can still build their career here? Young or old?

Bushy-dong writes about MM wanting more hands on marketing. MM doesn't want to deal with anyone else. He doesn't need anyone trying to topple his apple cart. All MM is trying to do right now is to keep SB or Bushy Dong from taking his job.

Thinking to go to Aerohive Networks. Anyone have any opinions about that company?

@YIpKvOz-wys very true no promotion after working at juniper for 7 years. flexible work time and location -- I often work from starbucks -- is a definite plus.

I assume the guy who mentioned silos is not in Marketing. Marketing has always down a good job of encouraging people to do assignments in other areas. If you’re not in Marketing probably a long shot. I’m sure MM would be more than happy to have an extra hand. I’d take any reasonably competent person to offload stuff onto. But getting your current boss to approve work outside his area could be tough.

Agree, generally No. But there are people being promoted. But I don’t think Juniper has ever been a good place for the younger among us. Not a development culture at all. But yes the flat top line makes all of this even worse. Get out when you can.

That’s currently my biggest hang up with the company outside of the never-ending layoffs. Zero career growth opportunities, even within my own job. We’re so siloed there’s very little opportunity to work on things outside of your silo, too.
