It's not like GD doesn't still have stockc in QCOM, he reaped the benefits of this deal too. At that high of level you have to sell your shares AND notify the SEC. So he made out 2x. One by fleecing intel for a higher salary + more stock. and #2 for having a f--- ton of vested RSUs he can now sell at 78-84$.
@1uru. Agreed about settlement being a surprise. Why else would Intel announce dropping 5G modem strategy 4 hours after settlement? Maybe Intel was on apple hook with 5G modem unless apple signed license agreement with other vendor. Once agreement happened Intel WISELY saw writing on the wall and drop-kicked 5G off their roadmap. I think GD got an offer from Intel he couldn't pass up. Shirley GD secretly must wish he was still at Qualcomm after 4 brutal years of fighting the investment community.
I think the deal must have been a surprise to the executive team as well.otherwise I can't make sense why GD would leave for intel
You have long way to go. Broadcom stock at 318 per share. Remember buyout was 82 dollars per share plus AVGO stock which appears to be gold
After that settlement future qcom revenue will be down. Cost cutting to follow, aka layoffs
Looks like TC won. Word is SM broke and have Apple what they wanted, royalty, etc.
So TC was lying all along. Wouldn't be a stretch to conclude the folks deserting Q for apple sd office e are being lied to as well.
Glad to see these two kiss and make up
did anyone see cnbc video with ed snyder? ed looks like a fool now. 5G slim modem had mav’s back up against wall given intel dropped ball. how could ed not see that?
Qcom won this battle. Qcom obstinately maintained their position while Apple budged.
Hi Haters
Bye Bye Mr Kerrisdale
Well technically even the banks doing ASR buybacks for qcom is short some 40 mill shares. Hopefully net net the buyback program can in Sept with 67 dollors average price.
stock now touching 70, up 20 percent. short squeeze happening. hedge funds dumping huge blocks. any daytrader short today is getting creamed. MERCY.
Short float is only 1.9% or 23 million shares sold short. At average volume it would take 2 days to cover the shorts. I suspect after today the % float sold short will be around .4%. As of 3:30 PM EST we're at 48m shares volume so theoretically we could have covered already.
me so happy I stay as Qualcomm employee. Much sorrow to those who jumped ship to FRAND sweatshop.
and now comes the SHORT SQUEEZE!
