So apparently, a huge amount of sales people from around the world have been laid off this past year.
If it's about metrics, J theoretically should have kept the ones with the best sales stats, right? Just like a baseball team.
Now....you change the comp scheme enough and that that the "best" ones are apparently leaving.
So when they DO land at competition, and they do their sales calls to the people they have sales relationships with, with their insider J advantage, they can EASILY spin their clients away from J to "X".
It seems, losing great sales people is literally akin to cutting your wrist, as they can drive MILLIONS of dollars away to their new master (i.e. Cisco, Arista, etc).
So why O' why would you change the comp scheme to these sales guys as a middle finger to indirectly encourage them to leave on their own? The sales people will not only take their sales contacts with them but spin sales away from J with the dirt/insider advantage they have.

New comp plan details emerge. Till 60% you get factor 0.5. After 60% factor goes up. Idea is if you make plan you end up on ote. However since only around 20% of sales ever make plan you can do the maths.The mood is the worst I have ever seen it. People are openly looking for jobs
This is the plan for the grunts. I am not sure how it works but usually the sales leadership is guaranteed a much higher percentage all the way to the top.

But Magic! Magic Johnson was there in Vegas for the sales people to INSPIRE them! That should be enough to MAINTAIN loyalty! Right? So now they quit 3 months later after J. pays MILLIONS for flights, hotel, events to this shindig in Sin City?

On to more important matters. There is a growing sentiment that the leadership at juniper has a plan to change sales commissions to benefit the higher ranks. This is another reason to get rid of seasoned veteran sales teams and hire novices fresh off the boat. Anyone else hear anything about this?
The above comment was posted in another thread a few days ago. It cames through. Now there are reports of sales teams moving on, due to frustration. This is exactly what Juniper's HR and the leadership wanted.
This place has turned into a canibalistic smorgasbord for human carnivores. Can't get away fast enough. What a shìthole.

there was a rumor last fall that no commissions would be paid until a rep hit 50% of quota. don't tell me they actually went through with it....
