Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

More people need to leave on their own

I hope so many people leave that they either have to go back and rehire positions that the company has just released, or they choose not too and force the already overburdened employees out the door. At a certain point, you can only eliminate so many jobs before the vital things stop getting performed. And now that we know that all the different BU and departments are going to be making cuts per the EHS VP, we can all start making plans in case it’s one of us. That makes me wonder how much the other VPs appreciate her alerting everyone else of the upcoming plan.

Well said, @Xttoigd-1tzt.

Show Me The Money! Can you say Layoffs! I hope I win the layoff lottery. It is the dumbest thing I have ever seen though. I have watched over the past few years we will lay someone off, pay them a 6 months severance, and then rehire someone 3 months later. We are so incredibly mismanaged that we end up spending more money trying to save money.

As a shareholder, I hope to see more layoffs at CHK, at least 20%.

@XuGTzYe-3mjj Can you tell us all the time the posting was made? It could have been made prior to work or after work, during lunch break, hell it could have been made while they were using the restroom. Please enlighten us all on your ingenious investigative skills.

Since you were posting this during work hours, you are obviously not one who is overburdened. You are one that needs to go on your own. Monday would be a good day to submit your resignation. You can do it during the work day instead of getting on this site, as you appear to have plenty of time. Grab anyone else who would rather stir the pot than work for our shareholders. I’m sure you know who they are. The rest of us are too busy actually working.

Do you realize you sound like an id--t? We all know they do this every spring. I know a few that left last week were very pleased with their package they got and happy to be out of here. Getting cut isn’t a bad thing. Packages are as good as they once were but they are still plenty good.
