Good question. Enjoy and relax until layoff hits. Come in at 10:30, leave by 4. Enjoy the paycheck. Thanks WDC!

If your team is "half of Irvine" and yet that half is doing "nothing" then what's the point of keeping that team on the payroll?
Our team is half of Irvine. Are you saying cut Irvine force by half? There are so many people doing nothing here. So many HR folks have nothing to do, leaving at 3.
Then your team should be one of the first cut to get rid of the dead wood so the other teams can do their job.
our team in Irvine has not produced anything. Everyone including managers do nothing, just meetings to create weekly reports to management. There is not any progress from last week in weekly reports, but lots of BS
If you report up to W VP hierarchy therez good chance for summer reports. Coin created penny pinching culture.
But who is going to do the weekly status reports in summer?
It makes NO financial sense to renew a lease in Irvine for all the existing office space. It makes more sense to chop the head count down to 1 or 2 floors max and open new positions up north. I'm hearing less than 300 hundred head count in Irvine before summer
Irvine produces weekly status reports.
Come in at 10. Lunch at 11:45. Return at 2:00. Ask other US location people few questions and get confused. Repeate last week’s task and rename it. Leave at 3:45. From home send few emails about the same questions asked in afternoon with few managers & VPs on copy. At night bkame a favtory worker or two. Login here to look for irvine rumors.
WD Irvine teams have not produced anything in years. Next to let go. ESSD has been a failure.
The Irvine office lease expires in 2020. Whether WD decides to renew it is anyone's guess. A lot of the employees (and their families) live in the greater Orange County area and would not want to move up north to the San Jose/Milpitas areas. You can expect the City of Irvine to kiss WD's collective arse and try to get them to stay.
