Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Basically they are telling us: take a pay cut or leave?

My store was told last night. 3rd shift is going away. 2 support positions mine and the other one are no longer there. We have 60 days to find another position or take a severance pay and quit. Whatever position we take we would take a cut in pay for that position. Such a b---s--- move. I'm fine losing my position but every position I would take would cost me over $2 an hour except a css which there isnt a full time position open for that.

Stop complaining. WMT only cares about Identity Politics, diversity & inclusion, and equality of results. You need to self-identify as a person of color, as a person of the opposite set, and some other category that does not really exist - then apply for a job as an executive at WMT. You will probably get hired as an EVP in charge of equality. Then you can go on cruise control. Fire a bunch of straight, judeo-christian, white males, and you could be CEO. This is what you need to focus on.

Our store is dropping our over night shift in two months. There is talk of severance pay for full time, but what about part time employees? I have been there 8 years and 8 months, and work 3 days a week . Will I get offered a severance? not getting much info from our mangement.

My store just announced the changes. Overnights are going away completely. They will have to transition to positions during the daytime and take a pay cut. Salary members of management will have to re-interview for positions store is losing two assistant managers.

This is real and this is happening. If you think this is going to affect you start looking elsewhere now.

Hourly severance is one weeks pay for every year worked. A weeks pay is calculated based on your average hours worked over a certain amount of time. If your not a long timer making a good amount of money take the pay out and find a better company to work for. I am curious tho about how day stock will work. I see walmart going down QUICK. Just remember you will find a better company to work for and it will better your life as you hear from most people on here after they leave.

I have not seen the Severance paperwork. Usually hourly is one week for every year of worked service. So they minus any LOA you have used. They only pay for whole years. Salary is usually 2 weeks for each worked year.

I checked with a store that has APCH and they are level B. APA's are level D.

@ sus, you're 100% correct. Great post. My verification tool for all this b.s. on here? There are two stores here in town, I know many associates and am on good inside gossip terms with a few of the salaried managers. N O T H I N G of what's been being reported as Gospel Truth on here has come to pass, nor have my friends heard anything of it, nor does anyone working there who I speak to regularly sense or hear or receive any evidence whatsoever that this status is likely to change.

So you trolls keep blowing the place up with your lies, and the rest of you too gullible to question anything, I guess keep on believing this swill that's being dished out.

The VAST majority of rumors on here were lies. Go back and see how many have been proven. Maybe 15% if that. That’s the problem, so much trash it hides the truth.

Our store is cutting back over night associates to 4 stockers, 2 support, the mod team, fe will stay staffed as is on overnights and 1 asm. We most likely will eventually close overnight in my opinion. But our store is adding 7 APCH in place of the people greeters.

APCH I believe is a level D (7). Might check into to that. I would be a lateral move.

Is the severance pay 1 week or 2 week for every year of service? Hearing conflicting pay outs .
