I been working 2 part time jobs for the last 3 years and even though its hard, I am grateful at my age to just be working.
But its very hard working Monday to Wednesday 11pm to 7am, ($14.00 an hour) then Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11pm. ($12.00 an hour)
It does take a toll working days then working 2 nights, but hey gotta do what I have to.
I’ve given up. 52 here and I’m gonna sell everything and buy a camper. Not worth the aggravation.
Once they get rid of the over 50 white men, they’ll start getting rid of the over 45 aged white women.
Fact.
Companies should realized if they hire an older worker, they are going to get somebody who puts in a full days work. A person who is not going to change jobs , because we realize nobody wants workers over 50. So we are not going to leave within 3 years but stay until age 62 or 65.

Sorry companies want cheap cheap younger workers, also companies are hiring more temp workers for 1 to 3 year job assignments.
Companies view older workers are too expensive , they do not consider many older workers have a strong work ethic. We show up on time and put in a full days work, unlike many younger workers who spend 1/2 the day on their cell phones, taking extra time for breaks and lunch.
To use an old lawyers' saying, it depends. If you are a generalist, especially a manager, you are going to have a tougher time over 50. If you have desirable skills, especially technology, and are current on skills, you have a better chance of landing a job quickly. I know several over 50 IT people that got jobs in 2 to 6 months.
It’s brutal out there. I feel like they offer us old timers an interview just so they can be diversified with the ages interviewed and then they hire the younger applicant.
I’ve been looking for over a year. I have not got one offer, despite about 75 interviews. I’m 54.
