Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart will hire 2000 high-tech workers in 2019

These hirings are done within the efforts to step up the technology race ( taking on Amazon) and according to this article, they will join WM’s retail technology group that already counts 7500 employees. Wonder how many of the regular workers will have to lose their jobs in order to pay for the big salaries of these techies.

They're about 20 years too late to jump into the technology race.

As long as Walmart evaluates on the bell curve I would never recommend anyone to work there ir go back myself. I highly doubt the prespective employees are told about it.

I don't understand why they don't outsource management. Particularly in ISD. Management doesn't do anything.

I'm sure the article doesn't mention all the attrition due to the c-aptastic environment and the terminations due to the 'Hunger Games' evaluation system the HO is using. The constant churn will force WM to hire these 2000 high-tech workers.

Those new techies will not have big salaries. They will mostly be H1-B visa holders from India and other sh!thole countries.
