1st the reason people at STT are having trouble find new jobs are for the following reasons

If your 50yr+ no company wants you because your considered too expensive

For the last 15 years STT has been outsourcing jobs and bringing in so called H1-B workers
some who have been working at STT for 5 years. H1-B = 30% less in pay

I know of three people at VP level who have been looking for jobs for over a year and they are willing to travel out of Boston to find a VP level job and no one is hiring, or they are not hiring state employees.

OP, I should note, my uncle, for real, was a very senior person at one of the big six banks. He resigned 7 years ago and sold everything. Granted, he's loaded and can buy anything he wants, but he moved from NYC to some remote place in Idaho and he clued me into this pole shift stuff. He said when it happens, no one will be traveling anywhere and if you are not with your loved ones, you will most likely never see them again. He also said financial system would collapse in 2020 - he told me this 7 years ago!!!
I believe everything he said, I mean there was so much more, but I want to hear what you think.

OP tell us more. You've caught my attention. My uncle is also tin foil hat dude and I believe what he says about economy and stuff like the ice age and pole shift, mainly because I am witnessing strange stuffing nature.
If we get laid off, it will be a blessing to be with the ones we love when all this goes down.

I agree with the OP. The economy is already in the sh--ter, but media will not report this.....yet. Wait for it. It’s coming. The real numbers are real bad news and we are in for some really bad years. Now is not the time to be spending. And if you have debt, pay it off now. I can’t disclose more, but we are on the edge of th cliff about to go over. And nothing will pull this economy back up. It’s all by design. You can’t stop what’s coming.
This is a curious comment as it mentions two different topics. The OP doesn’t know anything more about the economy than anybody else, but I can tell you that the total onshore layoff target is much higher than 30%.
I agree. The media won’t report the real numbers. By this time next year we will have 22% unemployment and in a full on depression.
Enjoy your job while you still have it. If you get laid off, slim to none chance your find another job if you are over age 45.
