At least 40 let go in facilities business development. All were on a conf call and got the word. Nasty way going about it but not surprised.

I personally know some of these people and hate it for them. I got out last year for many reasons but one was just never knowing when the next round of cuts were coming. Doesn’t matter what your rank or how well you do your job either. Some very talented people were let go last week and I hope they all find their way to a better company with less stress and more happiness.
SP is not done yet. Many more exits a coming.
Did they dump that Michigan FS Director yet?
Yay!
@X3OJ8nc-1uvi "these people" had years to stop believing in lies and fantasies. it's not my job to carry you on my back.
PS: Severance only effects WHEN you can start receiving unemployment in most States, NOT if you can receive them.
If you have a legitimate beef I'd get legal advice before signing. On the topic of unemployment benefits; Staples cannot lay you off and think they can then dispute unemployment benefits. No State that I know of would not laugh them out of the room.
Folks, if you were laid off and received severance, you may still be eligible for unemployment benefits if you sign an 'agreement and release'. From what I understand it's not always offered and is said to be valid in MA. Check your local guidelines. The reason I think this is beneficial to mention, is because one doesn't know how long they will be unemployed and from my point of view it is best to get as much saved as possible just in case unemployment continues into a time frame where it becomes a financial burden on you.

I hope they find new jobs soon. It’s no fun to be laid off. Especially when you are not expecting it.
