Just heard that LC did not bless the previously agreed on assessed corporate contribution to GRC. This could be a major shoe to drop since assessed funding is close to being 1/3 of GRC funding and is required to both lower the researcher cost to businesses and also for cost-share for external contracts. Hope this was just some disinformation and GRC will still get the promised 75% of last year corporate funding.

@trb The sad truth is that if a new wave of massive layoffs arrives, just like in 2017, probably all the talkers and braggers will survive and prosper, maybe even get promoted, but more of the quiet doers will be let go.
my cuzzin sed that they can jist lode the rest of the mony into FOURSKIN and it will maik up for the deference in the rate that larry said grc needs to use becuz Vic got his hand slappd for being to greety
Heard the same. The previous "locked-in" rates that were promised back in October-November are supposed to be increasing. Also, FORESEE hasn't been fully loaded yet with projects and funding, apparently.
LC is making the right decision. The money is needed and will be better used in Aviation to bring up production to target and reduce cost. He should indeed cut off the lifeline for VP and stop him on his tracks starting "new labs" for the express purpose of safeguarding his cronies.
Those who are working on business contacts should be reporting to the respective businesses.
Those who are now engaged in external (govt) funded programs should continue as needed based on the current prirorities and future needs and matches to businesses' plans and vision ( if any!)
VP has already got the would be facilities caretaker from India under the guise of the AT director, who can continue with his new job of managing the facility and collecting the rent from the occupants....
oh no VA and his cronies may need to reduce the number of cling-ons they still employ! look out xlp/program managers/digital weenies, your thread is gonna get pulled!
Bring on the layoffs. More dead weight, both salary and union, need to go!!!
You will know soon enough. Your first indicator should have been that the GRC Senior VP no longer reports directly to the CEO of GE. Look at the GAL...VA reports to Mr. Joyce. Hence GE Aviation pays your overhead. Only a matter of time before more cuts are on the way for GRC as divisions are sold.
