Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Downward spiral continues

General Electric stock has slid under $7 and there is no slowdown in sight. How low do we have to go before bankruptcy is a guarantee? Or even Chapter 7?

I'm just wondering if there is ANYTHING upper management can think of doing to get us out of this mess other than layoffs.

@aym You got that right. GE's last great hope appeared to be LC, but it has become painfully apparent that he was a false hope.

@-aym, you nailed it. More of the same leadership shuffle without any true leadership. This ship has taken on enough water. Once the ship is submerged, it will be over forever in its final resting place. Lower than whale dung.

Culp’s “bold moves” thus far have been to:

(1) reshuffle Power leadership (the same people that got us here)

(2) bring in a dinosaur named Rice (that also helped get us here)

(3) layoff admins (who probably get more done in a day than most SEB’s do in a week)

(4) add another overpriced board member head (more pigs at the GE trough)

This guy is just another greedy clown with different facepaint...GE is in deep, deep trouble folks.

I expect in 2019 we’ll see:

Pension freeze

Reduced (or eliminated) 401k match

More early retirement packages

More voluntary job elimination incentives

More layoffs

No raises

No bonuses (unless you are SEB, of course)

The key is plugging the $8B debt due in 2019 and the $25B debt due in 2020 as the company can no longer issue debt and cash flows so far have been negative in 2018.

Good indicators of potential to survive are the Credit Default Swaps and the Corporate Bond Rate.
