It's funny how angry the Sears haters become when they learn it's not over.

Someone posted the Black Friday post directly on this thread. Can any of you understand what you read? I hate to say it but I think I now understand why many of you still work at Sears.

The "Black Friday" prediction guy included the false statement that every remaining store would close by December 31, 2018. That is obviously NOT happening. The post was fake. The source was fake and false. It's sad people can't admit when they are wrong.

This is still not a company-wide liquidation. Obviously that is inevitable at some point in the not-too-distant future, but stop trying to contort reality to pretend the specific prediction in question wasn't a failure.

They did not say everything was over, they said complete liquidation would start, let's see if they are correct. 40% off of everything now should become 50 should become 60 , all the way up to 80. Stating that liquidation is starting, which is the sense I got as well from reading the documents from the bankruptcy is not the same as stating the whole thing is over immediately. You are misquoting the OP you are referring to

You are right, the guy was wrong when he said it was over Black Friday. It was actually over LONG before Black Friday!

Stores have been liquidating this whole time. It's simply the act of turning assets into cash. There are stores all over the country running everything must go liquidation sales. What do you think liquidation is?

He said black friday was the start of a company liquidation. He was wrong. Sorry dudes. Keep insulting me though, I guess you think it will mask the fact that this post was made up.

We have had absolutely no reduction at all in staffing in our Sears store. In fact we hired more seasonal employees.

Liquidators can close only so many stores at a time. They just finished a bunch up on Sunday. On to the next batch.

This is basically what's happening, are you blind??? He didn't say the doors would close the day after. What he described is basically what we are seeing unfold now. Or can't you read like half the other mo--ns on here?

Here is the post from the guy:

Just got off the phone with a good friend of mine. He gave me a heads up.

I've known this guy for years, he worked over 15 years for Sears before they let him go 3 months ago. He still has a few contacts in the upper ranks, pretty high up. Now I'm sure some will say because he was fired, that automatically makes him a disgruntled, hateful former employee and a liar, etc. etc. , but I know better. I asked him what he thought about the latest developments, esp the creditor meeting today. I'm going to cut to the chase because I admit I didn't completely understand all the details. The bottom line is, according to him, Black Friday is the start of total Sears liquidation. they don't plan on closing the doors the day after (that would be ridiculous anyway) but there will be reduction in staffing like never before. the few people left will wind down the remaining stores and the plan is to close all the stores before we see 2019. I suppose he could be wrong, but I know he at least believes this is true, because he would have no reason to lie to me. Flame away.
