Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

MASSIVE WORLD-WIDE GO TO MARKET LAYOFFS 1ST WEEK OF JANUARY [CONFIRMED]

Just in ladies and gentlemen, juniper will be laying-off anyone (SEs & AMs) that carry a native quota the first week January. The analysis being conducted by the new women who runs WW sales ops for PPA is anyone that finishes 2018 below 60% of their annual quota will be getting a pink slip and the boot, with no exceptions. Also 2019 sales compensation will be brutal and designed for people not to make money, basically juniper is going to place a 50 to 60 percent annual quota gate and not pay sales comp until the sales gate is achieved. To control attrition they are going to provide recoverable draws for the first half to key AMs but not everyone. Way too many changes that will for sure break what is left of sales. Too aggressive and good sales people will no doubt run because systems are inefficient, product issues, product delays, quality of code and no real enterprise portfolio. The school of thought is to hire a bunch of new young college grads and have each of them carry a 3.5M sales quota. SE start looking for a new job and run away from this place a quickly as possible.

So much talent has quit or been fired in the last year. This place is going down the toilet. I hate it here. Nothing to work for. Only working hard enough to try and fetch a package.

It's funny to read about the "tight NDA" people had to sign to work on the list for the chopping block. I guess it's not so tight and the people entrusted are not as loyal as juniper would like them to be.

That's a telltale sign that Juniper just doesn't have it all together these days.

Sadly, Juniper is heavily bloated with bogus titles and Deadwood... You can't walk into the Juniper campus in Sunnyvale before you smell bad gas from a VP, Senior Director or Director... Because there are so many of them just farting around, and not doing any work.

I often wonder how these people get these jobs. No one knows whar they actually do and what value they bring. Not even them. Many are just long time employees, or friends of powerful execs. There are rumors of 's-x slaves', but I cannot confirm that. If there is an honest audit of employee contribution, skills and qualifications, many, if not all these VPs, Senior and junior Directors and their cronies will have to look for jobs in January.

Collateral damage is a sanitized term for layoffs. I guess the opening shot was already fired at AC!

PPA announced the new org last week. Sales split into 3 segments. Nothing dramatically new or unexpected. Sure, there will be some collateral damage.

Because they want to inform their colleagues because they understand they are family providers so they have time to find a new position to support their family. There are some very good hearted caring people who don’t want to see undue hardship inflicted on people they care about. Sounds like his VP wants his colleagues to be aware: look for new positions ASAP!!! Get out FAST!!!

Given the confidentiality of this information, why would any VP leak this out?

Confirmed from a VP over the weekend. Massive re-structuring coming in early January. There will be some layoffs , not sure how many. But company will be restructured starting from verticals. I am keeping fingers crossed that the lazy, inefficient, promoted-by-connections, political mid-management fat gets shed. Hopefully technical people will not get affected too badly - there aren't many of us left in the company anyway. Get rid of the mid-to-lower management fat - they don't do anything, at least in EMEA; all they do is politics and bully people.

SEs may know they are getting boot once they couldn't get the SKO ticket....

If it says confirmed, it must be true!

Just about as true as the fact that Westford was closing. In fact, Westford closes every night at about 10pm when the guard leaves!!

Wasn’t this the model PPA was using when Avaya went into bankruptcy under his sales “leadership”?

This ended up being a disaster at Avaya and CheckPoint. JNPR does not have the appetite to make this radical change in the fashion that it's being done. Don't get me wrong, change is indeed needed, Besides it will take 3 QTRs to recover from the mess and RR & KM & BOD won't have the patience once PPA owns the WW number. He will miss plan every QTR and then RR will realize the decision to bring in this clown was a horrible one. I will remind everyone of this post on May 1st.

Haven't found anyone who seems to reliably know what will happen in 2019 under PPA. Jan restructure seems likely....the details...not so sure.
