Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Well?

Anyone from Admissions finally going to come forward and admit this is your fault? You put those students in this position. You knowingly sold them on a sub-par education and straight up lied to them. You let all other departments do your dirty work. Admit it. You all have NO idea what you are doing...and don't care. Shame. SHAME.

A lot of it is admissions fault but pressure came from the director! They would buy student shoes, transportation passes and food at my campus just to get an enrollment. They would straddle a student with loans even if they know that the student didn’t have the mental capacity to get a job after graduation. They even wrote their essays for admissions if they had too! That department is the absolute worst that I’ve ever seen and it’s disgusting that this went on for so long. Not to mention how leadership treated the employees if they didn’t get the enrollment in those weekly meetings! I’m so glad that they are closing these schools because it’s the only way to stop the bleeding.

You're so cute, OP. Love that we live in a world where people can be as myopic and childish as you without any repercussions whatsoever. You keep bein' you, though!!

Agreed, Admissions at all brands, especially Argosy, are liable and DID make other departments clean up the mess and let's not forget about the finance department! What a joke.

Dream Center Foundation and Dream Center Education Holdings win! Staff at DCEH schools are clearly turned against one another and with that type of toxic campus, why not just shut them all down?

They’re going to shut down all campuses eventually but this site is fodder for their case against all campuses.

I don't appreciate the lecture. When it comes to educating the next generation I must disrespectfully disagree that in your educational world view as it applies to the present failed business of education it has been proven time and time again that students do not come second to generating funds, in fact, they do not factor into the equation at all except to be objects of exploitation.

So if pulling the wool over the eyes of students, some employees, shareholders, taxpayers and those who try to emulate the teachings of Jesus can be reduced to business transactionalism alone, your thesis, based o the law of the jungle, I repeat, has no place in education.

Education is a business . . . clue in to reality. No matter whether a school is for profit or non, education is all about the money. Students come second to generating funds. So is healthcare, politics, energy and housing. If you don't like the way the USA operates then vote, create change and make a difference. All this b#tching is such a waste of time if you do nothing but complain on this site. And don't blame EDMC or DCEH, they are just following the money. When did you ever expect businesses to be alturistic? What is happening now is the cycle of poor business decisions by both companies. They put temporary profits before the longevity of their companies . . . killing both.

Admissions helps them enroll, helps them to finish their first class, and then academics drops the ball. It’s hard not to though when they have 300+ students a person and are told to help them all.

The only problem is that "sales" jobs have no place in education. If you want a sales job masters of the universe head to the used car lot where there's no pretense about what kind of a low life you actually are.

Like all salesmen, admissions has a script written by corporate analysts filled with the “information” that has been proven to manipulate people into buying a product. They are misled about the quality of education and in turn mislead prospects.

No shame, it’s just the way sales jobs go.

The education is not sub-par.

The students are.

Admitting D and C student without a portfolio does not help build a strong school.

The students can not get jobs as they can not even do their school work well.

Yes, the big banks were criminal, not just in their loans, but in their investment in these schools. They put pressure on EDMC to make profits every quarter, no matter what the cost was. Then they bailed when the profits weren't there.

Everyone at the campus level was a pawn to evil corporate greed. Recriminations are useless. It’s over

Are banks the criminals here? They're literally throwing cash here at people with no credit history. The pyramid scheme is the whole rotten education system of overpaid education system of overpaid educators with exorbitant books and tuition and a massive apparatus of overhead and a money train that doesn't prepare you for the real world.
